We will be going in Jan. Me, my husband and my teenage son. We don't do too many roller coasters. Are their very many "Other " rides? and are they like the ones where any size person can ride(no tight bars)? If we don't do roller coasters could we do both parks in one day. Where do you suggest eating our meals at? Sorry so many questions. Just don't want to waste money if there is nothing there for my family. Thank you so much.

Lots of other great stuff to do. If you keep moving, and start early, you can do most of both parks in a day. You may find a two day two park ticket the way to go. Lots of great food options, including Mythos. But if you are going to sit down and enjoy a place like mythos or Finnegens, you should be planning on the two day ticket. For quick service, Richters is good, and you need to get at least a snack at the simpsons food court.

This is a really odd phenomenon I've noticed about Universal LOL, I really think Universal needs to do more advertising about how its not a roller coaster park. So many people I've noticed think Universal is a Roller Coaster park, I am guessing similar to Cedar Point. I have NO idea where this got started. I really think they should do a big ad campaign to get the word out what they are really like.

And to OP, no Universal is NOT a roller coaster park, they actually have very few roller coasters in the park. Most rides are themed rides similar to Pirates of the Caribbean or Soarin, if that gives you an idea. Not saying they are just like that, but similar in that they are based on a theme, have tons of animatronics, movie sets, props etc. Universal also uses some 3-D technology whereby they mix live movie sets, props etc., in with 3-D video projection for a seamless new type of ride experience where you are immersed into a 3-D world. I don't believe Disney has anything like that, not sure haven't been to Disney in a few years.

We do the coasters but we also really enjoy the shows at US and IOA. We have a DS17 and DS13. Lots to do in addition to the coasters.

Make sure you check out the website so you can see what interests your family. Then check out YouTube for ride videos so you can have some idea of what to expect.

We have a food sticky that contains menus, photos and recommendations.
