A few questions - end of June trip

We are going to DLR June 29th-July 1st. I am so excited! I have not been for three years (and for various reasons have not seen any fireworks for 5 - the last time I went I wanted to see the 50th fireworks SOOO bad, but my early-pregnant self was just too sick and too tired on the only night they were showing - yes, I cried), and I've only been in "peak" season once - we have usually gone in March or early May) and need a few tips.
1. It seems that the fireworks are showing even on weeknights at this point. Is that right? If DH and I are willing to camp somewhere for a few hours one evening (and play cards or something) where are some good spots to shoot for?

2. It seems to be much easier to get a decent seat for the second Fantasmic show - could we possibly do that the the same night as fireworks, or would that be too hectic?

3. How hot do you think it might be? This is 2-3 weeks - end of June-ish. I've never been at that time of year. We will have a hotel to go and rest at for a few hours two of the afternoons, but it is a decent walk as well. Where are some good cool places to hang out and rest if it gets bad? I'm from AZ, but have been living in Iowa, and am not into much heat...

We are so excited! Thanks for your help!

Jaina,
Yes--the fireworks run each night by this point in the summer. The electric light parade in Calif Adventure does as well.

If you watch the fireworks, you can make the 10:30 show of Fantasmic, but it will be hard to find a good spot. We did this before, so it is possible. Just walk very quickly over to the rivers of America after the end of the fireworks.

Sometimes you can even do the holy trinity and watch the Electric Light Parade, walk with purpose and as quick as possible over to watch the fireworks, and then hightail it over to the ROA to see Fantasmic. I haven't done it, but others here have.

Have fun!
Lisa

Drink plenty of water and take advantage of the shade. :wizard:

The Enchanted Tiki Room -- with a (pineapple) Dole Whip -- is nice and cool.

PotC is a good break from the summer heat.

The Animation Building in DCA is a good afternoon spot.
