Looks like a decent place and a great value, but I have a few questions.

1. How many units are there? How old are they?
2. Do they provide towels and bedding? There is NOT maid service, correct?
3. Are there any discounts?

I have noticed a lot of people referencing a $79 rate, but when I searched for Jan. of 2003 all I got was a $89 rate...not bad but with tax would come out to be about $100 a night....would be nice if we could get it a little cheaper.

Thanks in advance!

Matt, we stayed at Tropical Palms last October for two nights. The bedding was supplied and so were the towels. You could take your old towels into the office and exchange them for clean towels. Tropical Palms is actually an RV park, Encore. The park is divided into the RV half and the cottage half. The cottages are actually RVs with siding which make them look like cottages. The price you get depends upon the season you go. When we went in October we got the $79 rate for a 2bdr. There were a lot of cottages. I'm not sure exactly how many but I'd guess 80 or so at least. The cottages aren't new. I'm not sure exactly how old they are. You may want to call and ask about discounts. No, there was no maid service. We have teenagers so we used Tropical Palms because we needed the extra space. One hotel room with 2beds just isn't big enough anymore.

My family stayed at Tropical Palms in 1995. At that time they were at least two years old....making them at least 9 years old now. We had a really nice time. Like previous poster, we needed a lot of room (5 kids) but couldn't afford a big price. We paid $45 for a studio IN JUNE...must have been a long time ago! Every time my family makes plans to go to Florida, I think about making ressies with them again. Only thing holding me back are the two "Palmetto Bugs" (look alot like roaches) I found under the sink, and the "ant parade" going up the side of our front door. I expect bugs in Florida so I just bought a can of Raid and zapped them....but I haven't stayed there again. My family has gotten smaller and I've found great deals at other places. If you stay here I'm sure you'll have a great time. It's a nice, relaxing place. You can't imagine that 192 is so close because the resort is tucked back in the trees. My kids loved the alligator in the pond, all the little lizards on the trees, and the armadillos that would come out looking for food in the evening. We're from Ohio and only get to see those things in the zoo. :p
