A few questions about the interactive queue for Dumbo...

First off, can one play in the interactive queue if one has a fast pass?

Currently we have Dumbo scheduled for two days of our trip. Our arrival day, Sat 6/4, wait time is predicted to be 27 minutes and is the attraction right after our (planned) 3rd pre-booked FP. Barnstormer is next at 23 min wait. My second question is: would you try for a 4th FP for Dumbo, potentially keeping us from booking an additional for Barnstormer, so we wouldn't have to wait the 27 min? Or could my 2 under 5 yr old boys find plenty to keep them occupied in the wait area for 27 min, and then I can focus on getting the first additional FP for Barnstormer?

Again, we do have Dumbo planned for the next day with a predicted 8 min wait. Lastly, I suppose it would be better to let them play in the queue for a significant amount of time on the day the wait is proportionately longer...yes?

TIA for any opinions.

If you want to play in the interactive queue, just don't use a FP+ for Dumbo.

Be warned though - there is rough play there and sections where you can't see your kid at all! It's also not clean. I'm no helicopter mom, but my three year old not only was pushed around by older kids but also came down with a nasty cough. Use hand sanitizer and be prepared for hard knocks and some crying.

Wow. Ok, good to know! Thanks.

We never use a FP at Dumbo because the kids always want to play. We have also ridden at a time during which there was no line and the CMs still let them play before getting on. It was great because they pretty much had the whole play area to themselves.

We saw the play area from the FP line on our last trip. Looked like Lord of the Flies.

It's a great time for the kids and it's an air conditioned space, so a nice rest for adults as well. I haven't noticed any exceptional rough housing, and we have been in July and August so it's been pretty busy. Have fun :) I did the play area and didn't do the ride the first time :)

We've always lucked out in September and it's been dead in the play area. Our kids have the run of the place, and even though we can walk onto the ride they always spend a good 20 minutes in there. Of course, we are always riding before lunch and have never attempted at night...I'm sure it's busier then, even in the slow season! We think it's worth just going to play and get a break in the air conditioning.
