A few questions about POR and FQ

Hi all,

I am currently planning a a trip and have been going back and fourth between resorts. I was originally going to stay at AS but have noticed that both port Orleans resorts are within budget and have decided to stay in one of those and also includes the QSDP. I currently have a deposit for FQ but slightly tempted to change to riverside.

The only couple of concerns I have with riverside is that I know that this is a dog friendly resort ( I am not the best dog person) and was wondering how bad this can get? If you can hear them barking in the rooms ect. Another concern was the bus loop. How long does it usually take to get to the parks in the mornings?

The reason I was thinking of changing to RS as I prefer the theming and also there seems to be a few more food options as well as the pools look a bit better and more things to do. I was looking to stay in a king room at one of the mansions - would this be near the preferred rooms?

Or would it make sense to just book FQ and just use the amenities of RS?

Apologies for the questions any help is appreciated!

A lot of people like FQ because of its size and the single bus stop. A lot of people like Riverside because its facilities are more plentiful. Riverside has a better food court than FQ. It has a good restaurant. And it has a really nice main pool with my favorite pool bar. The multiple bus stops are a little annoying. But the extra few minutes on the bus are worth the extra amenities at Riverside, imo. We love Riverside. :)

A king room can be in any building. The preferred rooms are in Alligator Bayou. If you want a king room in the mansions just call Disney and have them add the mansions to your request. There are no guarantees, of course. :)

Dogs can stay in buildings 15, 24, 80, and 95. Those are the buildings where the dog relief places are. If you want to stay in a King room in the Mansions, request building 85. It’s near the bridge by the main pool. It’s not a bad location. But you’re not near the preferred rooms. The preferred rooms are in the Alligator Bayou section near the food court.

I don’t enjoy the bus loop. It can add up to 10 minutes or so. And if you’re at the final bus stop, you run the risk of not getting on if buses are too crowded.

I absolutely love POFQ and prefer it over Riverside, but if you prefer the theming at Riverside, that’s where you should stay. :goodvibes

Thank you, very helpful. The single bus stop and the smaller footprint was one of the main reasons for FQ. I will have to have another look at riverside. Appreciate the help!

That’s good to know about the building numbers. Thank you for the help.
