1 Do you think it will be hard to get a studio for the Thursday night before Valentines Days (a Saturday) at the 7 month window? I have to wait till Monday to call. I'll just need one night (after Disney cruise). Is this a busy time for OKW?

2 We will be 3 adults, looking to go to DTD the night of our stay, should we try for a building down near the boat area? Where do you catch the bus to DTD at OKW? Or would we be better off walking to DTD and requesting a building close to the walkway as far east as posssible? Is it a long walk?

3 What time do the boats between DTD and OKW stop running? WE might be out till 12am.
I will have a rental car.........
Thanks all you OKW fans/ experts out there!

PS, DH and I will be staying at OKW in October for the first time, can't wait!

Here's hoping you enjoy your stay(s) @ OKW. To answer your questions:

1. Being the largest DVC resort, I don't think you will have much of a problem getting a studio when you need it. DW & I were able to snag a studio on less than a weeks notice during the Christmas season.

2. & 3. Each area of OKW has its own bus stop (Miller Rd., Turtle Pond, South Point, and Hospitality House). Definately take a ride on Trumbo Ferry - we think its one of the best perks at OKW. I think the last one leaves DTD at midnight. (I would recommend against walking BACK to OKW at night.) Villa location depends on how fayou want to walk after you return from DD! Take a look at the resort map to find the best location. (Ferry loads at marina behind HH.)

My response is from memory and will defer to the experts who may have more accururate information. Whatever you decide - enjoy your stay! :jester:

The OKW/DD Trumbo Ferry makes it's last trip for the evening at 9:40pm. If you'll be at DD later than that, plan to use the bus or your personal transportation. (I've always found the buses to be very efficient.)

The Ferry is easy to access from all areas of the resort- since every bus will take you there before exiting the resort.

The walk to DD takes about 15 minutes from building 55 to Cirque. I wouldn't suggest the walk after dark, as some of the pathway is not lighted and the walk is uneven in places, but it is a pleasant stroll in daylight. You can take a bus to South Point (building 55) or it's about a 10 minute walk from the Hospitality House area to building 55.

Lots of options and I'd suggest trying them all!

Enjoy!
