A few questions about camping at FW

Hi!

I'm not new to RVing but I am new to camping at FW. We have always stayed at the resorts but this time we are thinking about pulling our new 5er to FW. So here goes my questions:

1. When is a good time to camp at FW taking into consideration weather and crowds?

2. I realize that I should book ressies as soon as I know we are going but since I don't know when a good time to go is, my question is this...Realistically, how soon in advance do you need to make ressies in order to get the dates you want?

3. Am I correct that you can not book a specific site but you can request one?

4. What sites are good for a 34' 5er?

5. What do you do if you are traveling with other people...is there a trick on getting your sites together?

That's all the questions I can think of right now. Thanks in advance for any help!

The slowest times ,best weather is usually early spring ( before schools take spring break) and after labor day. The summer is usually very humid with afternoon showers that pass quickly. The crowds then can be large but managable due to extended hours. Avoid Holidays. I usually make my ressies about 6-8 months is advance without any problems except for Peak times. You can request a site but like you said they will not quarentee it but most of the time you will a least get the loop you want. Picking a loop is anouther issue you need to discuss because many factors go into what loop you'll need ( location to the boats, Near the pool, near the resturants, set back and remote, etc...) For your size 5TH wheel every loop has sites large enough, but since you are going with a group make sure you talk to a CM to make your ressies dont make them online. Tell them you are with a group and they will try to put you in the same area ,either acrooss or next to each other. Hope this helps....TAZ

If you are going with a group and making seperate ressies, ask them to connect your ressie numbers on your reservation. We have done this many times with no problem. We are always together.
