Last year was the first time on site, first time doing dinning plan before that we had only eaten at a few sit down places in the world but the last trip kinda opened up our eyes to sit down dinning being more like a break and even though we aren't doing the dinning plan (since we aren't staying on property) we still want to try a few new places... but i'm not sure if my family will enjoy my choices and dh thinks i'm nuts for making ADRs 4 months out, but sure doesn't complain when we actully get in when we are there, anways... last time i stuck to normal steak places, and charecter meals, buffets, ect. to be safe, american style ect. but this time i feel like we missed out on some stuff... so i'm thinking of

Akershus i think we'll stick to the breakfast here

'Ohana for lunch???

Teppan Edo ???? Lunch or dinner???

Whispering Canyon Cafe ???

I think we really only will do 2-3 meals and akershus is a must for the princess....

We love sit down dining at WDW, it is a real break for us.
'OHana is not open for lunch. There is a character breakfast and an All You Care to Eat dinner. We loved it at dinner several years ago. We had a table near the windows and we watched Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant from our table.
They have changed the menu several times since we ate there and it does not appeal to me as much as before. We are not planning on this our next trip.
Teppan Edo is a must do for us each trip. It is a beautiful restaurant and the meal is delicious. All tables are for 8, with the Teppan grill in the middle. So you will be seated with others. The chefs perform as they cook your food. It is really great. Either lunch or dinner would be fine.
I have not eaten at WCC so I can not comment.
Have a Great Trip.

We love O'hana's dinner (don't think they are open for lunch). It's good food and great entertainment for the kids. We also love WCC. It's our favorite breakfast place. We get the breakfast skilet and also enjoy the antics during breakfast as well as the excellant breakfast foods.. Lunch there is not really any fun. Dinner at WCC is loads of fun, but we are not crazy about the food at dinner. Instead of ordering the skillet at dinner, we tend to order off the menu. It's ususally just OK food, but the atmosphere is fun.

Breakfast is the best meal to have at Akershus, the potatoes are delicious. Ohana is not open for lunch, but breakfast and dinner are both good. I haven't been to the other two.

Also if anyone has suggestions for other places to try out let me know... we prefer non buffet style since it was a pain with 3 kids, ect. Also we are all for trying out new places, so these are the places we have already tried..

Le Cellier (lunch)
50's prime time (dinner)
Crystal Palace (b'fast)
Liberty Tree (dinner)
Chef Mickeys (dinner
1900 park (dinner)
Kona Cafe (dinner)

and a years ago we've been to
coral reef
si fi
gareden grill
royal table dinner

I recommend Akershus breakfast! It's wonderful for the princess experience and the food is good. You will be happy with that choice.

Ohana for dinner is also good. (A friend of mine highly recommends Ohana breakfast, but I haven't done that one yet). On our last trip, we also did Tutto Italia for dinner - it was delicious. A little expensive (we had the DDP), but we really enjoyed it.

Not on your list, but we had an excellent lunch at Coral Reef in Epcot. The food was really good and the tank was awesome. I had no idea how fantastic that break was going to feel. As it turned out it poured that afternoon and being "underwater" we had no clue the storm had even started, you really are immersed in the theme!

I have no experience with the other, sorry. Two things I'd keep in mind since you are off site and cannot do any EMHs. Don't spend much time travelling from the parks to eat. Either start you day at those places or eat in the parks. I'd probably choose lunches vs dinners too: you'll save $ and it will give you a break so you can maximize the rest of the time you spend at the park.

Happy planning!

This is exactly what we plan to do, we have 2 epcot days so thoes meals would work in, we don't care to much for the sit down places at MK so i was thinking 'ohanas is just a monarail ride away, and WC we could eat at on our AK day since we tend to only spend a 1/2 day there. we have always avoided EMH parks since we don't park hop either.

We have not been there yet, but how bout the T-Rex, an 8 year old boy would probably really love it!

T-Rex is really neat and the food we had was good. DD11 had the kids pasta marinara, DD13 and I shared the boneyard buffet (roasted 1/2 chicken and rack of ribs) DH had yummy french onion soup as he was suffering from a stomach virus.
