I am also posting this on the photography board, but I have a few questions.
My trip is in a week and a half and I need some tips as far as photography goes. I have a Olympus E-400 with the standard lens that came with it.

1.) Should I set my camera in shutter priority mode for dark rides? What about ISO? I've heard 3200 is good.
2.) How about fireworks? I am getting a tripod today but should I put it in fireworks mode?
3.) Is there a idiot-proof mode? Can I just set it on Auto and still get good shots??

Realistically, ISO 3200 on an Olympus Camera (I have the E-520) is going to introduce a lot of noise in the image. I never go above 800 and I rarely use that. For dark rides you want to use the widest aperture available. I assume you have the kit lenses, 14-42 and or 40-150. Neither are really good low light lenses. But if it is a choice between no photo or noisy photo, you can give the higher ISO's a shot.

Check this out. It should help

Auto is the pure idiot proof mode, the camera sets everything for you. A better option is P (Program mode). The camera will make settings but give you options to change settings if you wish.

Hope this helps
