Has anyone ever stayed on Deck 8? It looks like our room will be there and I've
noticed Deck 9 is busy with activities. Any noise problems?
Also, we have a 12 year old, will turn 13 in Oct., so she has to go in the 10-12
group at the kids club. She's upset about this, saying it's too "babyish" for her. I
personally feel that the teen group is a bit too old. I don't feel comfortable with
her hanging around with 17 year olds. As I said she has no choice, she's not old
enough for the teen group anyway, but has anyone had any 12 year olds that felt
it was too "babyish" for them? Thanks! Judy

It depends on where your cabin is located on Deck 8 in regards to how much noise you will hear. if you are under the Goofy pool it tends to be more noisy especially when they have sail away parties late at night. The only other problem with noise on deck 8 that we have found is when the crew is setting up deck chairs in the morning. Sometimes they are not very quite and you will hear the banging of the chairs. If you should luck out and be under the spa, you probably will not have any noise.

I really can't answer for sure about your DD, but I know my DD loved the lab. Of course, she was 10 so that might make a difference, but she really had a good time and they try to have activities that are age appropriate. On our last cruise she was 13 and thought common grounds was ok, but she mostly spent time at the pool with a friend she had met. I am sure there will be plenty of kids your DD age in the lab, so she should have a great time.

If you are sailing within one month of your DD turning 13, then she will be allowed to go to Common Grounds. Our DD turns 13 within that time span, but now that her cousin is joining our group, I don't see her using Commong Grounds.

Hi Jac07...

I stayed on Deck 8 in February - stateroom 8028. The location worked well for us and noise was not a problem, IMO.

Sorry I can't help with your other questions...

Our cabin was near the aft elevators, 8586, and I heard them moving chairs around every morning. My family slept through it, but it woke me up each day, and I never truly got a good night sleep until we left the ship. That of course didn't stop me from having a great time, but I would have liked to sleep better.

The worst was the last night when we docked some time very early morning (still dark), I was woke up by the fork lift trucks running in and out of the ship, the cargo doors were right below us.

If I didn't need a category 4 I would have chosen a cabin on a lower deck with only cabins above us.
