This is my first time flying to Disney with kids, so I have a few questions.

We will be using ME, landing around 10:30 am, and estimating to be in MK around 1:30 pm. (We're flexible.) I know ME takes hours to bring our checked bags, so I plan to have essentials packed in carry-ons.

1. I looked at the TSA site. Are there any limitations on the amount of snacks I can put in my carry on? Ideally I'd like to have enough on hand for the airport, flight, and to take into the park with us that day. (I'm packing lots of snacks in checked luggage for the rest if the week.)

2. If our room isn't ready, is there a place we can change from traveling clothes to shorts, etc? Staying at POR.

3. The southwest website says they need to be notified about lost luggage within 4 hours. Will ME notify them if my luggage is missing, or will it be a nasty surprise when we get back to our resort that night? (I bought trip insurance through disney if that makes a difference.)

Thank you!! I can't wait to have a 3 hour flight instead of a 2 day drive!!

You need to a lot 2 hours from the time you plane lands to the time you arrive at your resort. Then you will need to check in, get tickets, change your clothes, get on the bus to MK so you could be looking at 3 1/2 hours till you arrive at MK and if you cant wait till you arrive at MK to eat then factor in another 1/2 to 45 minutes more. SO you may not get to MK till 2:30

Liquid snacks can not be in packaging that is bigger that 3.4oz. Dry snack such as pretzel, chips, breakfast bars are complete fine

2. If our room isn't ready, is there a place we can change from traveling clothes to shorts, etc? The resort bathroom

And you will be the one with the claim check tickets that the airline will need to located your bags

At POR there are also changing rooms by the pool, which are a lot more spacious than trying to change in a bathroom stall. We used them on both our first and last day.

I disagree with Shelly F about #3.

Utilize the yellow tags provided to you. Put one on each checked bag (minimum). When you check in at DME, they should ask you how many bags you've checked. Yes, they will notify the airline if they only find 2/3 of your bags.

If you don't use the yellow tags, you can still have DME handle your bags. Simply stop by the DME counter, you'll give them a description of the bags and the claim ticket numbers. Again, they should track if all your bags arrive.

Thank you. With the millions of visitors and bags going through DME, I thought some sort of system to collect the right # of bags must be in place.
