I presume these have been asked, but not sure what parameters I would search on, so asking on a new thread here.

I am not what you would call an HP fan, I have never read an HP book, never have seen an HP movie, have no idea what the HP 'story line' is.

But, I do often enjoy a visit to USF/IoA on many of my trips to Orlando, have had a USF/IoA AP for many years, not renewed last year.

Is the HP 'thing' an entirely new park, like adding a third park to the USF/IoA complex, or is it a new area within one of those two parks, like Suess, Marvel and Jurassic in IoA or New York, Amity/SF and Hollywood in USF? And are there multiple rides/attractions within HP, or is it a single ride/attraction, like Spiderman, Men in Black, Ripsaw? And if within one of the two parks, will the admission price of that park be increasing? I guess if a separate park, it would have its own admission, like the other two.

Thanks much, I do feel out of the loop, LOL. :scratchin

It is a small part of Islands of Adventure, it isn't a separate theme park. No increase in admission. There are 3 rides within Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Hi Dan!! We will be there to see all the HP action June 5-10. Jennifer is so excited!! She is a huge HP fan so this is a dream come true for her!! We are staying Portofino Bay so I am hoping we have a good experience.

Hi Sheila. :wave2:

Sounds like a fun time. :cool1: I have always heard good things about Portofino. Say hello to Jennifer for me. Hope you guys are all doing well.

Hi Dan, Happy Memorial Day to you...
add us to the list...we arrive Friday for 5 days and then on to WDW....but for size , one poster used Fantasyland as a comparison and Dueling Dragons has been renamed Dragon Challenge and the Flying Unicorn is now renamed Flight of the Hippogrif, then the new castle is Hogwarts Castle which houses the new Forbidden Journey ride inside of it. Mythos is still there!:thumbsup2 I think the detail is amazing for the land....at least from what I have seen photos of.

Hi Pam. So they are recharacterizing DD and Unicorn, and adding one new attraction/ride? And then DD and Unicorn are not part of whatever island they were part of before, I guess?

You too have a good trip, Pam.

WWoHP is actually very small overall. I tried to take a photo that would shop the scope but it doesn't turn out because it's not a straight shot through the land. But the two rides are on one side (along with some shops) and the other shops are on the other side, with the castle at the end. I don't even know if I'd call it an "island" or a "land" although it does stand on its own with the themeing etc. But when it is not crowded you can do it comfortably in a couple of hours (not counting long lines on FJ) if you're mainly walking around, absorbing the theming, having a butterbeer, etc. There were never lines on the Dragons or Hippogriff for the preview, but that could change when it's open permanently. Even FJ (amazingly!) was mostly walk on this morning so we did more between 8 and 11 than we did yesteray between 8 and noon.

How big is the restaurant? I worry a little that this place will be inundated at lunch time.

Hmm...it's an okay size. I don't know how to explain it. It's bigger than any of the shops, lots of little nooks to hide out in. I wouldn't worry about the crowds in here.

Morning Dan, yep, that's right, DD and Unicorn are simply re-themed, new buildings have been added to the area which are highly detailed and specific to being as close to exact replicas as possible to JK Rowlings specifications. The area itself does not appear to be all that large, but in the movies, things were close together as well and as I understand it, that is how it was to be re-created. I saw an interview with one of the actors and they said it is very much like the movie set on HP. Others have posted how close it is to the next "land" a minute walk or less...so I think that may be a little disenchanting, but all in all, it appears a :thumbsup2 is the general consensus so far.

That is interesting, taking rides from one 'land', retheming them and making them part of another. Thanks for the answers and information everyone.

They were originally part of The Lost Continent before WWoHP was announced.
