We stayed at GC for 5 nights over the holidays. Here are a few tidbits in completely random order.

1. you get turndown service automatically
2. the big fluffy pillows that look so nice when the bed is made are horrible for sleeping ! I used the extra blanket in the closet....bring your own if like flat.
3.There are wonderful robes provided
4. One nice touch I always like....a basket for the wet towels under the sink
5. the blanket was double sheeted
6. at the pool the first hot tub (closer to the quiet pool) is much hotter
7. very little logo merchandise in the gift store ! I wanted a magnet and there were none.
8. lunch at Storytellers cafe ends at 5 pm
9. be prepared for long waits (over an hour) for room service if you are there at a busy time
10. i loved the coasters that they pur under all the glasses in the room ! I saved them as they are very high quality and a great souvie. be sure to get the notepad in the night stand, and the stationary packet in the desk. They are all very nicely done.

Thanks for the info. We are going in August , wish it were sooner, though.
Sounds like a nice hotel.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hi Duckie!
Welcome to the DisBoards. This is a great place to learn and make friends. Your April trip will be here before you know it! Have an awesome trip, you will love the Grand. It is fabulous and the lobby is breathtaking. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Thanks for the tips. We're going in August an I'm counting the days!!

The other thing that occured to me is that the pillows are double cased. I know some people worry about details like this !

The other thing that I think sounds so fun is one of the "experiences" that guest services can arrange for you. Basically you show up to the Sophora make-up store prior to opening. You get a make-up lesson/application, a goodie bag, a certificate for $30 and private shopping time still prior to opening. The cost is $30 so in reality it is free. It just sounded like a fun mother daughter thing to do, but they were filled on the day we could do it.

I'm taking two R&R at the GC after a confernece in San Deigo and that sounds like some pretty cheap papmering to me.

You can request extra robes, so that your children have one too!

My Kids loved having a robe to wear to the pool.
