A few Fantasmic questions

I've read through the Fantasmic stickies, but still have a few questions.

1. If you get a paper non-meal FP, you don't have a choice of whether you will sit or stand, right? What if you're directed to a standing area and you have little kids? How are they going to see?

2. How early do you have to line up if you have a FP? Will it be obvious where to line up?

DD2 loves Fantasmic, so we want to try to see it later this month. However, we haven't been since they switched to the FP system, so I'm a little unsure of how it'll all play out.

Thanks in advance for your help.

As far as I can know only the Blue Bayou seating area sits all others stand. To get a spot where you & little ones can see get their early I am not sure because I have not been since the change to FP.

Only the BB and RBT dinning are seated. The on the go and FPs are standing. If you want an unobstructed view get to the viewing area at least 20 minutes before they let the FPs in for the show so that way you can get a standing spot on the rail.

Is the RBT package an actual seat, or on the ground with a cushion?
None give an actual seat. My biggest issue is it is hard for me to sit on the ground (getting up really) but standing for long periods of time cause hip issues. I was disappointed that the dessert package with seating was discontinued. I had never it before but was now willing to fork over the money just to have a seat/chair.

I totally agree. I would do the dessert seating again, but can't seem to get my head around paying adult prices for my 11-year olds to do the BB Fantasmic dinner package for us all to sit on the ground. I might never get up!

Agree with the above poster that F! FP dining packages are probably all booked up at this point. But you can still search for cancellations online and by phone. You never know when someone else will have to cancel.

ETA: I just looked up F! reservations at RBT (don't know about BB) and there appear to be quite a few, so go ahead and try to make a reservation for the date and time you want. If you cannot get that, then try for a cancellation.

On here again. We are actually considering th RBT, and there are plenty of spots open for the day I'm considering. My kids are not fans of PotC, so no need to spend the extra money at this time for Blue Bayou. I was just curious about the cushion - info to to be tucked away for a future visit.

The cushion is not that big a deal. It is a foam cushion, about 1.5" deep or so. It is purple (don't know if that is still true) and has the F! dragon on it. You can always sit on hoodies or jackets instead.

We went a few weeks ago, and were in the "Yellow" section, but we were able to go into the sitting only section, so we had a prime viewing spot. Maybe because it was the second show and it wasn't too crowded that they let us bleed over into the Dining sections.

Do the dining times determine which of the two shows you can see or is it get in line and wait for the show you want. If so, how early do the dining FP start to line up? We have 6:30 reservations at RBT on Sun 1/3. Would like to catch first show along with everyone else.
