We returned home nearly a month ago and I'm finally posting our restaurant reviews. We stayed off site at Marriott's Grande Vista so usually ate breakfast in our room.

Hollywood Brown Derby dinner - did Fantasmic dinner package but Fantasmic wasn't crowded enough Sat 3/22 to warrant the package. I have always liked the Brown Derby but this time the food didn't seem to be as good as I remember. Not bad but it seems to have slipped a little.

Princess Breakfast at Norway - We were very pleased. We have done Cinderella's at least 3 times and have never liked the food there. Food much better at this one. Character interaction similiar (good).

Restaurant Akershus lunch - We always like this one. Still a buffet. Still good. Still a great deal for lunch. Probably could walk in without a PS.

Crystal Palace lunch - Sometimes gets bad reviews but we are 2 for 2. Both times the food has been great. Extensive buffet and a good deal at lunch because you won't need dinner. Characters were good. I suggest an early PS here.

Dole whips - awesome snack which we ate while waiting for the parade.

Bomas - Really good. We love this buffet, especially the salads and flank steak. Of course the desserts are good too.

Chef Mickey's - Always alot of fun. Also sometimes gets bad reviews for food. We thought it was good - in fact even better than past trips.

International Lobster Feast dinner - We are pretty particular about our seafood but really liked this. Even the lobsters were good - usually lobsters don't sit well on a buffet. They have an early bird discount and free drink coupons are widely available. I hadn't expected to like it but we will definitely be back.

I'll be happy to answer questions.

Sounds like you ate really well. Dole whips are yummy!

btw, how did you like the Marriott?

Had you stayed there before?

Thanks for the reviews, we also love the Dole Whips. We always have to have one when we are at The Magic Kingdom.

Thanks for the reviews. I'm especially glad to hear good things about lunch at Crystal Palace since we'll be there on Friday!! Oh my goodness, I better start packing.;)

Mmm I'm booking Hollywood Brown Derby for Fantasmic package. I've eaten here a couple of times before and I was a bit disappointed the last time with the service though the food was still good. My DBF hasn't been before so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try it again. I hope it'll be OK ;)

Thanks again for the reviews.

hercamore,
We stayed at the Grande Vista once before and liked it enough to return. The units are very nice and clean. The grounds are pretty and there are a lot of children's activities. We have also stayed at Imperial Palms on the MOWC property. We like Grande Vista better. I have also stayed on site at GF and BWV. When we go with extended family we prefer the Marriott timeshares to WDW resorts.

Sounds good about the Marriott. I almost booked it last January.

We need a suite with kitchen these days. one room just doesn't do it anymore.

Thanks, herc.

Thanks for the reviews! I'm also doing the Fantasmic dining package at Brown Derby ... I haven't eaten there before, so I'm hoping that it's good :) Did they let you order off the regular menu or were you restricted to a special menu? I'm also looking forward to lunch at Akershus too :p That's one of my favourites!

bunnyfu,

no special menu at the Brown Derby. We ordered from the regular menu

vicb,

we had dinner at CM. We prefer not to waste those valuable morning park hours.

We are headed to the Grande Vista this Friday! :p Can't wait! Glad to hear your good comments, it's our first time. How was the dining on site? Did you eat at Nick's Grille? Whats kinds of childrens activities do they offer?

Also looking forward to a Dole Whip at MK!!! Thanks for the reviews.

OK, I'll bite (literally), what in the world is the International Lobster feast? I thought I'd heard of everything at Disney World. Or is this off-site? Thanks for the reviews, we're going to most of those restaurants in June and a lobster feast sounds to good to pass up.

I think it is off site but not sure.... just wanted to say that my sister had a lobster at Coral Reef in Feb.... she said it was really good but kind of expensive. Not sure if they did lunch or dinner.

Many thanks for your detailed reviews.
