A few breakfast questions..

I can book our ADRs on Sunday and I'm contemplating Kona & Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast. Both menus look good and they seem to get good reviews.

My question is.. we're staying at SSR. How difficult will it be to get to these restaurants for an early (like 7:30-8a) ADR? I'm planning on doing Kona on a Epcot day and GFC on a MK day because they are all linked on the monorail, so I should be good there. We're not going to be in any hurry to get there at rope drop, so that's not an issue.

Would it be easier to dump GFC and eat at CP instead? I'm not at all interested in the character aspect since it's just DH and I, but if it's going to be a major PITA to get to GFC in the morning, I'm willing to do that. The food is good there too, right?

Thanks for the advise. I am not familiar with how transportation runs and don't want to make an ADR error. :goodvibes

That early you're going to want to take a taxi if you don't have your own transportation. If you do CP at MK, then you can take the bus in and should be fine.

What time does the monorail run? So for instance, on the day I want to do Kona, Epcot opens at 9. Would it be possible to take a bus to the resort earlier and then go to the monorail and go to Kona? I'm just not understanding how this all is run? There is no way to get to an ADR at another resort in the morning without taking a taxi?

Unless it has changed, I believe the resort monorail starts running at 7am, so you should be able to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom from SSR and then hop the resort monorail to either GF or the Poly pretty easily. And just my 2 cents, but I definitely wouldn't drop either of those breakfasts for CP. I enjoy breakfast at CP, but the food is nowhere near as good as Kona and GF cafe.

Thank you! So feasibly, the buses will be running from SSR that early to the parks then. So if I make an ADR for around 8, I would think I would be ok. I am just trying to avoid having to pay like $15 for a taxi just to have breakfast. A reasonably priced breakfast isn't reasonably priced anymore once you add in the taxi cost. ;)

No buses run from resort to resort.

To get to Kona (at Poly), you would need to take the SSR bus to MK. Then transfer to either the monorail or the boat from MK to Poly. I'm not sure what times the monorail or boat start running. The people over on the transportation board will likely know.
