Hey everyone,

We are heading to Disneyland June 8-13th. We were last there in October and Aladdin, the musical, was closed. Has anyone seen it since they opened it back up? Did they change anything?

Also, we have stayed at Disneyland Hotel numerous times but I have never seen a microwave. Is there a place I can use one or can I have one in the room? I have never needed it before.

Thanks in advance

As far as I know, the show is the same......the only thing we noticed was different was that Genie's jokes changed to fit what the current issues were.

We stayed at the DL Hotel in March....and you're right...I can't remember seeing a microwave either.....I know there was a fridge. Have you tried to call them & ask? I would....you might be able to request one for your room. Good Luck!!

Yeah, I think I will call. We are planning on bringing a suitcase with some of our snacks. I am addicted to edamame and would love to heat it up. Trying to save a little bit of money on the snack side.

Thanks

I'd be interested to know what the answer is about the microwave. Please, let me know what you find out! :-)

I don't think you can get a microwave in the room, but it seems like there was a community microwave in the little snack shop by the pool (can't remember the name of the place).

White Water Snacks? That's the food location by the pool. I don't remember there being a micro for guests to use but then I was only ordering food.

Ooops-this is the one by the pool at CG not the DL hotel. I'm sure someone knows the answer to that one.

Crocs Bits n Bites is the little take out place by the pool at the DLH. No microwave there, its just a little take out window with some outdoor tables. I am thinking though that the microwave somebody mentioned is in the coffee shop next to Goofy's which I think is called the Coffee House.

We'll be there part of the same time the OP will be there. My question about the DL Hotel is if there is a guest laundry (self-service washer/dryer) and if so, what are the costs and where is it located in the DL Hotel?

Also, do all the rooms have frigs or do you have to request it? We're staying on DVC points... I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Standard room.

$2-4 to do a load (wash AND dry) and they laundry soap vending machines and location is near the Neverland pool I believe.
The rooms have those cute little dorm room size fridges. If you want a coffee maker, you have to request that and it's only those 4 cups size.

Thanks all,

I did call and the lady at the front desk said that they did NOT have a community microwave and you can't request one either. I might call back another day and get a different person, you never know.

At my local WalMart they have laundry detergent tabs. They are soooo easy and a lot cheaper then buying the detergent there. They are called "laundry dropps". I bought them last year for our frequent trips and I think I spent about $4.00. I still have plenty left for all our next trips in the future. I also bring my own bounce. I also use it in the closets and drawers, just smells fresher.

Yeah, did you use the 5 for 3 offer??

Have you ever stayed at the DLH?? It is our favorite for 2 main reasons. Almost all the rooms have a daybed and 2 queens and the neveland pool. My kids love that pool. We always feel very welcomed here. This will be our 6th stay at the DLH. We love it!!!

The DLH laundry room is a bit hidden. Its in the back corner of the resort by the Cove Pool (the quiet pool) and its next to the athletic club. I think it opens around 6:00 a.m. and closes at 10:00. There is a change machine, soap and fab softner dispenser (1.00 each for those) and its $2 each to wash and dry. There is a bench outside where you can read and if the Cove Pool is open (I think its hours are like 9-7) its nice you can swim or hang out there while you your laundry.

I'm pretty certain that the DLH doesn't provide any microwave ovens for the guests but I do recall seeing a couple of threads that talked about bringing your own (small) microwave to use in the room...

It was agreed by many that preparing strong smelling foods like popcorn in your room is less than considerate of the other guests ;)

Yeah, that makes sense. I wasn't planning on popcorn, just edamame and steaming veggies. But no biggie, I can deal. I'm definitly not going to bring my own, don't need to try and pack something else.

We stayed at the DLH way back in 1999 but I don't remember much about it at all.

I'm not sure what the five for three offer is?

The offer is you Pay for 3 days and you get 2 for free hotel, tickets or packages. We did a 5 night 6 day stay at the DLH with 6 day park hoppers for 4 people for $1935.

OHHH, I just reread you previous post, you are DVC members, then the 5 for 3 probably won't do you any good! You probably have a better deal.

It really doesn't matter how we get there, just that we do!!!
