I have a big favor to ask

If anyone could send the kids in my second grade a postcard from your hometown I'd really appreciate it.
We have a world map displayed and are hoping to receive a postcard from as many locations around the world as possible.

Hahaha! I was just about to say, Hey I just did this for a sick boy in MA and I was going to say "I'll send one from Canada, they'll love that!" and realized you are only 3 hrs from me! LOLOL Guess they wouldn't be that thrilled huh? LOL Too funny!

Shoot Mel, for all you do for me, I will be happy to send a postcard.:cool1: I only go into town once a week to shop, but, I will try to buy a card tomorrow after my volunteer time in my DGD's room. I think this is exciting for you class..I hope you get many:) I live near one of the Finger Lakes in NY State. I can see it from my bedroom window if there are no trees in bloom:lmao: I think it's the most beautiful area in NY.:littleangel: Well, another great thing about this area is has rolling hills with many many vineyards and lots of wineries..So, I will get a card out to you soon:woohoo:

Hi there, I'd be happy to send one too :goodvibes. Would you prefer one saying Scotland or one from my city?

I'll grab a postcard when I'm out running around tomorrow. My DD's class did this earlier this year (2nd grade too) and had a blast with all the cards that came in. :)

Hi

Your class's postcard is on its way from Broughty Ferry, Scotland :) (pronounced brought-tay, I know some of our Scottish words can be tongue- twisters!).

My dh often ends up in different cities with work so I've asked him to pick up some postcards if he ends up out of town.

Hope your project goes well :goodvibes

Thank-You Clare:wave2:

I had a Scottish Nana --we used to sing a song about" tossing tatties up the the lum" Which I now know means throwing potatoes up the rain spout. God bless her she was such a wonderful lady.

Thanks for taking time to do this

Sending one today from Boston! I teach Kindergarten and the 2nd grade at my school reads Flat Stanley and sends "Flat Stanley's" all over! When they return, he goes up on the huge hall bulletin board to show where he's visited (each child colors and cuts their own Stanley). Then there is a 3" binder on a table there that holds all his postcards and other 'artifacts' from his travels. If you haven't read his series, it's very cute. Definitely 2nd grade humor!

BTW, I'm new to these boards (and to Disney cruising) and just made the connection that you are the person who does the great designs (DISigns!) I need to figure that all out because we leave for Canada July 8! Definitely want my door decorated!

Enjoy your mapping project! Take a picture of the map (and kiddos) so we can see!

Mel,

I couldn't decide between my city or state - so two postcards are on the way from me from Sunny Arizona!
