A FastPass tip I learned on our recent trip

On our recent trip, we collected FP for our family of four during the day to use in the evening. One night, we "kidnapped" our 10 yo niece to accompany our kids, but we didn't have FP for her to ride the rides with us.

At every single ride (BTMRR, Splash, Space, and Indy) we just mentioned this dilemma to the CM at the FP line. They reached into their pockets, up on a shelf, etc. and handed us an extra FP to use. They didn't do this at Space, just told us to go ahead and no one questioned us.

Just thought I'd let you all know about this in case you end up with an extra member of your party at some point.

I've seen this work for people, and I've seen it not work. Like so many things, I think it all depends on how you approach it. Polite words to the CM, without any bold sense of entitlement, seems to make a difference.

Glad to hear it worked out well for you. We were not so lucky, Sep. of o9. We all had FP for GRR except my 2yr old, no ticket so no FP, and they told us we had to go standby or without her.:confused3 My 2yr old, now 4 was and is big for her age but we didn't try again because she was so disappointed I wasn't willing to go through that again.

How in the world is a 2 year old 42" tall to go on GRR? I'm soooo confused. Oh and on Buzz (have FPs but no height requirement) the little ones don't need a FP...

She turned 3 just after we got back and will be 4 next month, sorry Im a little early on the age. Yes I have a huge little girl she was over 10lbs when she was born and hasn't stopped. He daddy is 6'3 but Im praying she doesn't end up that tall.:goodvibes

yeah its funny that OP mentioned this.. sometimes people read the fast pass wrong and and leave it thinking that it's one of those that says" sorry this is not a valid fast pass"..its really boggles my mind..but yeah or sometimes they get dropped! you never know!

Why in the world would your 2yo need a FP if she didn';t even need a ticket to get into the park!? That makes no sense! I hope we don't have that problem...we're taking 18mo daughter in Oct.

That's a good point about it's all in how you ask--we explained our situation very politely and they were more than happy to accommodate. I just wanted to let people know that it's not hopeless in that type of situation.

I agree. If a child doesn't need a ticket, they don't need a fastpass. They were probably just confused by a 42" under 3 year old! (but surely they could have looked at your hubby and understood...at least her height comes from somewhere obvious, unlike kids of our friends who are both VERY tall (their under 4 year old girl was much taller than my already-tall 5.5 year old boy) and neither of the parents is overly tall at all!)

I had this happen with my DS just before he turned three. The CM was not wanting to believe that he was too young to need a ticket on a 40 inch ride (If I remember correctly, it was Space Mountain). He did finally allow it though. We just calmly stated that his father is 6ft 4in and his grandpa is 6ft 8" and he is just a huge kid.

We were only questioned the one time and it was not a big deal at all. If your kid is that big, you get used to the questions and strange looks. He's 5ft 2" now at age 9 and wears a size 7 shoe. :rotfl: Don't let it bother you when the size of your kid confuses people!:)

According to this a 41" 36 month old boy is still in the 95th percentile for height. Trust me there are kids who have never been on those charts!
