We just got back last night from a week at Yacht Club concierge. We were there from Aug. 23 (Sat.) to Aug. 30 (Sat.). Our concierge experience at Yacht Club was wonderful!!:D It was everything I hoped it would be!:D The staff was so friendly and accomodating. They wanted to help with any question or problem that I had. They always said hello with a genuine, warm smile. It was so welcoming. :D

We had room 5154 which overlooked the wedding gazebo. It was a lovely view and the room was in perfect condition. Mousekeeping was excellent and we received towel animals, which was nice, but not that important to me. Although a very nice gesture.

For the first time going to Disney, I experienced so many magical moments that began when I walked into my room to see a lovely surprise of a chocolate cake, ballons, gifts, and confetti. We were celebrating our anniversary. The gifts that I ordered ahead of time for my children were also there as well as a few surprises. What a wonderful sight it was to behold!!:D Please understand that we were celebrating a special occasion and this was our first time to ever receive something like this from Disney. We had a few other magical moments like complimentary dessert and a rose for me at the Yachtsman's Steakhouse, as well as a replaced pin that was lost, and complimentary glass of champagne at Narcoosie's.

It was without a doubt the most magical vacation we have ever had. I truly believe that at Disney, magic can happen! We were very well taken care of. I want to mention that our pretrip itinerary planner, Amy, who is just the sweetest and kindest person and is so dedicated to her job. I felt that she took us from the preplanning stage, all the way through our trip until the very end. We were handled with kid gloves.

I will be writing the general manager at the Yacht Club to commend the Yacht Club concierge staff for their professionalism and genuine concern for the comfort and care of their guests.

Also, I made last minute ps time changes and it was no problem at all.

Any questions? Glad to help!

:D :D

Thank you so much for posting your experience! We leave
:Pinkbounc TOMORROW :Pinkbounc

This is our first time at YC and first time ever to book Concierge. With the FTP I just couldn't pass it up.

Amy was very nice in e mails as I arranged a Pal Mickey and autograph book to be there in our room. Surprise for my Daughter.

Am really looking forward to the vacation and the concierge touch.

Happy Anniversary by the way...

Sharon

Thanks for the fine review. We are staying at the Yacht Club Concierge, next April, for our son's senior trip. This our first stay on a concierge level. You mentioned that you overlooked the wedding gazebo. Did you have a Garden View or Lagoon View room? Smoking or non-smoking? Thanks again. :)

hightown, you will love YC Concierge!:D This was also our first concierge experience. Now we're spoiled and have to go back! Have a wonderfu stay!!

Dana49- our room was a garden view with a lovely garden view, not parking lot. I think our room was nonsmoking, that's what I requested. It always smelled fresh.:D

We are staying at the BC Concierge but wanted to comment on your post.

I am so happy to hear that you had a great experience at the YC Concierge.

I, too, have been dealing with Amy from the Concierge. She is just incredible!! We received an autographed photo of Mickey Mouse and his pals via FedEx this past Wednesday plus a note of condolence on the death of my grandmother from the Concierge staff. It was very nice.

Now some questions...
What types of offerings did you find in the Concierge Lounge?
How were the crowds in the parks?
Did you enjoy the Yachtsman Steakhouse?
What surprises did you order in advance for your children?

Thanks!!!

I'll do my best to remember the food in the lounge.

Breakfast: bagels, English muffins, breads, sweet breads, cakes, donuts, cereal, fruit - watermelon, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, as well as apples and oranges. Breakfast is definetly a meal!

Midday- crackers and cheese, pretzels, veggies and dip, salsa and chips, wonderful cookies, cupcakes, cheese popcorn. Good for snack time. Not meant to be a meal.

Early evening- wines, cheese and crackers, probably some of the snacks from above, a hot appetizer from either Yachtsman or Cape May, macaroni and cheese for kids.

Desserts- cheese cake, carrot cake, little cakes, cookies. Good yummy stuff. Cordials.

Crowds in the park at the time I was there was comparable to July. Still crowded. Epcot was not crowded. I think the FTP brought everyone down. Sept. might be better though.

We enjoyed Yachtsman Steakhouse but thought California Grill was better. Just our opinion. Yachtsman's is still a wonderfulrestaurant. We had a beautiful window view of SAB. The food was delicious and well worth the price. :D I recommend it.

I ordered a basketball for my son and a Minnie Mouse for my daugher.

Enjoy your stay!! Beach Club is beautiful!:D

Thanks for the quick and detailed info!!!

Thank you for the information. We will be requesting your room. It sounded wonderful Again, thanks. :)

Welcome back! Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the YC. It doesn't surprise me though. We have always found that the staff at the YC go the extra mile. Isn't it nice to experience the Disney magic?:D

YAY!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc That's the second glowing Y/C concierge report this weekend. I hope that service is sustained all the way through our visit Christmas week.

Cali, I thought my Yacht Club stay was totally top notch. I also visited the Boardwalk area and walked into the lobby and I felt as though I'd love to try their concierge sometime because the Boardwalk has a lot to offer as well. Life is good when you can't decide which resort is your favorite!;)

Cindala, It was so nice to experience that Disney magic!!:D :D It'll bring me back for another visit! And my brother and his family too!:D :D :D

I have read this thread with great interest. I was able to get an AP rate of $299 (tax included) for YC Concierge for our Dec 6-13 stay. I already have a reservation via Shades of Green for the same dates at the YC for $189 (tax included). I am trying to justify the extra $110 per night and I need some help.

We have stayed several times at YC and it is our favorite resort due to the location and the pool. I have been happy with our service during other visits, however I am looking to make this visit extra special. We will be celebrating my DD 7th b-day on December 10th. Also, my husband just got a big promotion at his job this fall - I'd like to do something special for him, and I have just completed a major renovation of our home and I want a BIG BREAK. In short - I want us all to be spoiled.

Here is what I am hoping we would get by staying Concierge level. Please let me know if my expectations are out of line - or not worth the extra $110 per night. I would like a nice room with a king size bed for DH and I and a day bed for my DD, I would like to check in early (this maynot work out, but I'd sure like it!), I would like to arrange for some special gifts to be waiting for my DD and DH when we arrive, I'd like some help getting those hard to get PS (CRT for my DD's birthday morning), I'd like some help ordering a special cake and some gifts for my DD's b-day, and I'd like not to have to haul all the usual breakfast/snacks from home.

I would enjoy some special attention given to my DD on her birthday - not gifts, but just some CM's acknowledging her special day by taking a few minutes to talk to her - she LOVES that! For my husband and I, I would like to be treated with respect and know that we can ask for assistance when necessary and not have to wait in a long line or end up researching the issue myself. I'd like the help with planning - especially my DD's b-day.

Are these out of line with what to expect at Conceriege level? I know I have to be the one to make the justification for the extra $770 on this trip, but it will be easier to do if I can be assured that the items listed above WILL be provided for at this cost.

Thanks for your help!

I think that the expectations that you outlined are definetly within reason as to what the concierge can do for you. :D It is handsdown a lot more costly to stay concierge. But I truly feel the level of service that you receive is well worth it!:D My husband who is usually very conservative about spending our money now feels that he'd like to do concierge again on our next stay.:Pinkbounc I say try it once and see if it's for you.

Hey WDWfan!! I wonder if we sw each other in the lounge????
We just got back today!! We also had an AWESOME!! trip!!!!!!
We got spoiled rotten!!!!!!!!(lucky your last day was Sat sunday they closed the pool!!!!!!!!! :( that was such a disappointment!!!! But they needed to shock it!!)

Hey tnkrbell I just read your post and was wondering the same thing! What day did you arrive? I didn't see any celebrities there. I agree that Trevor and Dane were so kind and helpful!! I really liked them all!:D We are so spoiled now, too! Next time, we'll have to do concierge!;)

wdwfan, We arrived on Friday we left on Monday. LL was staying on Sat night only. Destinys child was not on our floor my husband saw them waiting for their car out front around 8:00 Sunday morning.
Im sure we saw each other do you have children? I have a little girl 7 she looks alot like me (both blonde hair blue eyes)
Oh yes Going concierge again is a must!!!!!! :)

There must have been lots of magic in the air at the YC last week! We just got back from an amazing stay there (same time as you!) - we had a lovely room, 4125, with a terrific view. From the moment we arrived we were treated very well, and our entire stay there was amazing. While we did not recieve any special extras, the service was first class and the place was so lovely. I once thought I might like to try all the resorts, but now my family and I are thinking of the Yacht Club as our vaction home base! Even though we visited several of the resorts, the kids still insisted that for our family the Yacht Club was a perfect fit. We even found the other guests staying at that time to be friendly and all in good spirits. I think we will try concierge next time around!

Glad to hear your stay was great too!
Sue
