A&E standby after Royal Table Breakfast

Searched a couple different ways for this but didn't find anything helpful.

We booked our FP+ at the 60 day mark, but there was virtually none left for A&E and we had to settle for an unfavorable slot pretty late in the evening for the kids. On the next day, we have an ADR for CRT at 8:05 am, and I'm wondering if there have been any reports of the best way to go standby for A&E after having breakfast.

Do we have to cut breakfast short to get to the rope or can we just enjoy and head outside as long as it is before 9? Is there any order established at the rope before the walk over to Fairytale Hall?

After that, are there any reports of how long the wait is for the first bunch of standby vistors since there will be many with early FP+ in line as well? Is there a specific point at which the SB and FP+ lines merge?

Thanks in advance for any advice! Trying to decide if we should stick with the unfavorable FP+ the day before or take a calculated risk with SB after breakfast on the next day.

There is another thread going right now. It seems the changed the standby system TODAY. So I would say keep your FP+. Because who knows how the new system is going to work out. Since it only launched This morning at 9am.

I see that's very interesting. Thanks for the link!

But assuming they don't get rid of standby completely, I'm curious what have been people's experiences going from CRT breakfast directly to rope drop A&E.

That's a very tight turn around for breakfast. to be at rope drop. We went a few weeks ago and had an 8.00am breakfast. We weren't actually at our table until 8.15 and food didn't arrive until 8.30. We ate fairly quickly but with waiting to pay etc, we didn't get out until 9.05 by which time A&E was at 120 minutes. We didn't joint the line but noticed that by 9.20 it was 300 minutes

Several threads/posts on this. This only worked if CRT or CP 8am ADR was on a day with no EMH. Also, these guests were leaving breakfast early to beat the RD people. PP indicated this didn't work as well as it did @ Akershus (right next door to M&G). You had to go to MK ADR due to sections of MK being closed off. So paid a lot of $$$, to rush & eat to get in front of crowds. Also note RD sometimes early like 8:45am. However, if you search the threads, this changed & a new RD procedure was implemented just for A/E. Also, new changes warrantied how you entered the park as well as the PFH area & SB queue. SB wait 90min+ within 1st 30min. So in other words, FP+ is best option. Too many continuing changes since 1st appeared on April 20th @ MK.

IMO, CRT is too expensive to rush through breakfast just to run to A&E. Plus, as PP mentioned, you aren't seated right away.

Not sure if this is a common occurrence or not, but my coworker is down there right now. Trip planned 2 weeks ago and she wasn't able to get A& E FPs but did snag a CP ressie at 8:05. Plan was for her daughter and husband to leave early and meet the princesses. Well as it turned out they took a taxi from AKL but of course taxi can't drop off at front gate and got into a mess at TTC since monorail doesn't start til 9. I wish I had know that was their plan as I would have suggested dropping off at Contemporary. Anyway, they get to CP late and her husband and daughter leave early but then are allowed back in to finish eating and meet the character. Waitress felt bad for them and they ended up getting FPS for mine train too. Overall great pixie dust in my opinion! All of that to say that apparently at CP they let people leave and then come back!

I don't know that I would count on that Pixie Dust regularly.

Totally agree...I hesitated commenting b/c I don't know how often that'll happen.

I hesitated commenting on this particular post too. Generally, those type of FPs are the yellow tickets (which isn't a actual FP) for bad experience due to fault of Disney & excludes A/E & SDMT. Yep, definitely wouldn't expect. Also, reiterates problem with using ADRs to meet A/E.

Also note it should be common knowledge that unless using Disney transportation, the closest you can get to MK is the TTC.

Take the cab to bay lake tower and walk. If you tell them MK you get to the ttc

As I said in the first post they have completely changed the queuing mechanic so no one knows how this will work but the queue tickets by 0915 where already at 1600

They knew they could only get to.TTC but didn't know monorail was down. Coworker doesn't stalk Disboards like I do. She knows for next time.
