A&E Stampede this morning was insane!!!

I'm sure some of the other princesses can be cross-trained, I mean, its acting, its not like the girls need to be trained to dismantle an atomic bomb.

I Don't think it's a question of acting like A&E being difficult.

I think it's a question of finding enough girls......in the central Florida area....in the right age ranges...willing to work for the money Disney pays.

I doubt that.

I'm suprised that they allow, or at least haven't done anything about the actual running. Isn't the pavement usually wet in the morning from cleaning?

The MK ducks and squirrels are in grave danger.

I have a feeling your assessment could not be more inaccurate. The issue is there is too high of a demand for FP+ to see the ice girls. FP+ for them is often gone by the 60 day mark unless you split your family up into single or pairs.

I agree with this but I suspect there's something to what Ravenne said as well. I my mind if I wanted to see A&E it wouldn't be so much that it wasn't worth using a FP+ on, but that the stakes would be too high to risk using a FP+ on and finding Disney's fragile system had lost it and I'd have to rely on a six hour wait.

Just wait until they add people running for the Mine Train.

Surely they could have seen all of this coming.

Yep. This area should feel pretty "magical" in the not so distant future!

I am still just very amazaed at how popular those characters are!!!! I can't beleive folks line up for that long to shee them.

They should make it FP+ only. Put all of the spots into the system. Let people keep checking the app if they want, at least they won't get trampled or pass out waiting for 300 minutes. This seems like exactly the thing FP+ was built for.

I thought FP+ was going to fix the running of the bulls to the hot attractions?

Not where the attraction is SO hot that if you don't get a fastpass you have to be there pretty much exactly at opening to avoid waiting 3 to 4 hours. There is nothing else like this at WDW, nothing comes close to the amount of time guests are willing to spend waiting to meet these 2 ladies. There was a report above for this morning that says 6 minutes after park opening, there was a 2 hour line; and 5 hours after 30 minutes was reported on another date.

Boy am I glad we saw the Frozen sisters in December, and waited "only" 2 hours!

Although it sounds worse, this reminds me of ToonTown RD when they opened Pixie Hollow. At least there the CMs would lead you to it but the push to get to the front of the pack was crazy.

But think of this scenario:

"Sorry Sally, the wait to see Anna and Elsa is way too long"
"but mom I want to see them!!!" *tears*
"how about I buy you this $60 Anna dress instead."

Wouldn't that require them to have the dresses in stock, first? :rotfl2:

What's all this about running... don't they do the rope-walk there? Where the 2 CMs hold a rope and walk at a brisk pace and you have to stay behind them? There was no running at the MK open when we went in 2012.

I don't get the popularity of Frozen, personally. Sure, cute movie, but we weren't blown away.

My dd8 LOVES meeting characters, but we won't be waiting 4 hours for anyone. We aren't going till September, and maybe they'll have figured something out by then, but really, I don't think even she'd care that much to see A&E.

We tried for Tiana several times a few years ago, and even at 1 hour, she wasn't willing to wait. She'd rather walk around and look at all the fantastic details in the park. And like I said, she LOVES character meeting.

HELP WANTED: Princess. Magical ice powers a plus.

Nah they have casting calls all over the country, they turn down way more than they hire. They could have all the college theater majors they wanted, in very short order, especially for the summer months.

I Understand they want to keep the demand high but there is a fine line between keeping interest high and turning off your customers.

Put them in a couple parks and don't start with the that would confuse kids, if a Child is old enough to know that there are the same princesses in different parks and isn't young enough to be told "well today she is over here" then they are old enough to know it is all pretend.

I love my kids dearly but there is no way in H we would ever wait in a 4 hr line!! luckily my kids never wanted to anyway, but even if they did we wouldn't have.

And the mega fits people throw when all the FP+ are out and their little darling can't meet Anna and Elsa will be epic. At least with a line, even a 300 minute one, people do have the option to get in it if they choose. Not to mention, its pretty scary from a guest perspective if Disney creates an attraction that is strictly FP only. If they decided they liked the way that works, imagine them moving to something similar for all the big attractions.

The thing is, they could do this at any time, without any announcement at all. All they have to do is quietly keep adding more capacity to FP. We have already seen many reports of the absurd number of people let through FP on some rides for every party let in through standby.

You're right, really they could very well be doing this with Anna and Elsa right now. We all saw the FP+ times that were opened up after the first day. But the more slots that are given to FP+ (that are still running out), the longer the stand by lines are, which creates an even bigger "need" to stampede at rode drop.

Exactly! This means extra productive hours early in the other parts of the park. I have a fp for the belle attraction because I haven't done it yet, and we don't plan on riding Peter Pan so I'm hoping our foray into fantasyland around noonish on our MK won't be so bad after all.

Lol me too! Everyone head to A&E, I'll be screaming on Space or Splash :cool1:

RD is still OK at MK but the other parks there isn't enough Tier 1 rides and standby's have gone through the roof. We did much less last week then we ever did. The kids vetoed Disney next Easter. We can go to a 5 star hotel anywhere in the country for less than last week's trip.

and THIS is why they wont make A&E available at multiple locations. You can't buy publicity like that!

Also they want to stretch it out. If you make them available at 2-3 places throughout the parks, everyone will get to visit them. Then there's no reason to come back. Drag out the demand as long as possible.

I doubt Disney is disappointing it guests on purpose.

"how about I buy you this $60 Anna dress instead."

This sounds exactly like the whining from the two kids from NJ behind us on the plane down to Orlando! "We had to drive 3 hrs this morning" "The Line was long at security" "I want to watch Netflix" "She's touching me" and my alltime favorite was when the doormat mother said "Shhhhh your screaming" and the kids says in a long whine "I don't care" At that point it was all I could do to not turn around and say "I care, it my ears your whining into."

I get this but they have known for months now about the popularity of the Frozen sisters. They should have made this a top priority the very first day wait times hit the 2+ hour mark in Norway (back in Nov). I'm sure some of the other princesses can be cross-trained, I mean, its acting, its not like the girls need to be trained to dismantle an atomic bomb. If some of the Frozen sisters are better than others, its not life or death. (and actually some of the videos I've seen the girls are pretty awful, if these are the A-team, the B-squad can't be much worse).

What they need to do is make all of princess hall Frozen central, and kick the other princesses to meet at the Diamond Horseshoe, or somewhere else in the interim.

Yes, Disney needs to meet the demand.

If your happy settling for less, good for you. However, at the price of a Disney vacation, it shouldn't be either wait in line forever or tour the park. You shouldn't have to choose either/or. You should be able to do both.

I agree, and that could be why Disney is doing this, so at least they can say standby is available. But really, doesn't a 300+ minute wait for an attraction make it a FP+ only attraction at this point?

I think they are moving to a 100% ride reservation system anyway, slowly but surely. And the 4th rotating FP is final piece of that. That is just going to increase standby times even more, especially once they build that functionality into the app (which I think they will)

The thing is, they could do this at any time, without any announcement at all. All they have to do is quietly keep adding more capacity to FP. We have already seen many reports of the absurd number of people let through FP on some rides for every party let in through standby.

I think it was on easywdw, but I remember reading that FP+ gets all priority over standby now. They aren't working in standby riders with a set ratio anymore. Which makes sense, in order for their 2-Billion-Dollar baby to be seen as a success.

Maybe I just got lucky, or maybe it's because I was only making a FP+ for one, but 3 days ago I was able to make FPs for those two on either this Sunday or next Saturday (I chose Saturday).
