So basically i missed out on FP+ On A&E. We decided we are going to do our first rope drop at the Magic Kingdom. We are going the week before presidents week in Feb. Anyone have an idea on how long the wait is if we go at rope drop? probably will be at the gates by 8:45 on a thursday.

Also, it says that the new A&E ride in epcot will be done in 2016 along with the revamped DTD, is there an idea on when those will be done? want to go back just for that haha

1a. Anyone have an idea on how long the wait is if we go at rope drop?

1b. probably will be at the gates by 8:45 on a thursday.

2. is there an idea on when those will be done?

1a. Depends on how early you are in the "pack" of guests arriving there.
But, I'd figure in the 20-40 minute range.

1b. It couldn't hurt (and it very well may HELP) to be there earlier.

2. Nobody knows hard dates.

That question is going to be hard to answer because there are alot of variables. For example, you say you will "probably" be at the gates by 8:45. Well, if you are at security at 8:50, then heading under the train tracks at 8:55, the answer could be pretty different than if you arrived through the mickey readers and are standing at one of the sides ready to go at 8:35.

The first few people into the attraction will be those who had real early ADRs who either ate really fast or sent someone out to hold a spot while the rest wrapped up breakfast, but I would say if you walk with a purpose (no need to run) with the main group as the park opens you will probably wait about 20/25 minutes.

thanks for the replies. My other question is, on feb 11, it says the park is open til 9pm, but it says the fireworks are at 9, mistake maybe?

And they dont do the parades in feburary?

Often times the fireworks will close out the park for the night. The main thing to remember when this happens is the bus stops, monrails and ferry boats can get real crowded so have an exit plan in mind and either be decisive when leaving, or plan to lollygag around and let some of the crowd die down.

Over at Epcot, IllumiNations (the major fireworks evening spectacular) begins virtually every night of the year at Epcot's "closing time."

In fact, DHS' Fantasmic! is many times scheduled to begin a full half-hour AFTER the posted park "closing time."
Thousands of guests will have left other DHS attractions and be seated in the amphitheater well before the start of the show.

Disney often uses these major outdoor events to painlessly pull guests out of other attractions at "closing time."
