A dumb fireworks/fantasmic question

Somehow in all of our trips to DL, we have never managed to see Fantasmic or the fireworks. Either our kids were to little to stay that late, or it was off season, or it was canceled due to rain.... Anyway, we'd like to give it a go this trip. Looking at the schedule, I see the fireworks are scheduled 30 minutes after Fantasmic starts. Is this a situation where I can only see one based on where I am, or can I see them both from where I am situated? Where is the best place to be? Thanks! I can't believe in all of my visits, this is one area I know nothing about.

If you decide to only see fireworks and not F! then come back and tell us when you are going and which show you will see as the answers might vary from show to show.

Bummer! This is exactly what I had hoped to do. We will be there Sept 27-Oct 1st, and the Friday we are there they are not doing Fantasmic because of the Halloween Party (which we are going to), so I was hoping to see both the fireworks and Fantasmic on Saturday the 29th. I know there are fireworks at the Halloween party... maybe those will be enough? Anyone know when they start or how they compare?

During the months of September or October, there will be two shows of F! on the weekends at 9pm and 10:30pm while the fireworks will start at 9:30pm.

The fireworks during the halloween party are by far the best fireworks disney has ever had. also you can see firework perfect from f!

Ditto, you can see the fireworks quite well from the F! area. They play the music in the area, too.

The summer fireworks have something magical happening around the castle. While you can see the fireworks from the F! area, you would loose that special effects. I don't know if it's the same with the Halloween fireworks.

I've seen the fireworks first and then the second F! and had a good viewing of both. But it would end late.
