Perhaps you all would like some more details? ;)

So trip number 1!

I booked the cruise on the Disney Dream for May 2011. We are set to sail on a 5-night Double Dip cruise leaving on May 29th. That means that we get to go to Castaway Cay twice! Hopefully that will make up for getting rained out halfway through the day on the last cruise. The other port we will be visiting on the cruise is Nassau and then we will have a Sea Day somewhere in there.

Since I am paying for this cruise all on my own as a gift to Mom I decided to book an inside stateroom. I am a poor suffering student so I went with the cheapest option. ;) Had this been a cruise on the Magic or Wonder I probably would have gone with an Oceanview room but the inside cabins on the Disney Dream will feature a nifty virtual porthole. The porthole plays a live feed from various cameras that are positioned nearby on the outside of the ship. In addition to that live feed you will get a random Disney character popping up every now and then. It all sounds very fun and the Inside Rooms were the first to get booked up when the Dream became available for booking.

Here's what the room is supposed to look like:

Here's a YouTube link that shows the porthole and room:

Ooooh, those rooms looks so Dream-y!!!!:cloud9:

They do look nice, don't they? I can't wait until people get back from the first Dream cruise in January so that we can see what things REALLY look like instead of these computerized graphics and showroom set-ups.

wow, those inside staterooms looks SOO spacious! Are the rooms on the Wonder and Magic just as spacious?

The pictures always show a very spacious inside stateroom, but I'm never sure if that's exacty what I'm getting.

The verandah room we had on the Magic was very spacious. I would say it was around the size of a value room at a Disney resort. Mom and I were very comfortable in our room with all our stuff spread out. The inside rooms are smaller than the verandah rooms as they are lacking the balcony and some do not have the split bath system that the higher room categories do. I think it will be fine though but I would not recommend an inside room for more than 2 people. I guess I will just have to wait and see for sure though how roomy the inside room will actually be!

I was reading about the virtual porthole the other day. What a great idea to make it a little less claustrophobic feeling!
