I've been reading trip reports and I thought I would start one of my own. My story features:

Me - :bride: nearly 30, works in a office, very geeky, and loves all things Disney, especially Pooh!

DH - :groom: also geeky, a machinist, but he doesn't get excited for things until it's a couple days before

Our story starts in July 2006 - I went to Michigan for my bridal shower, and while I was gone, my poor DH (then DF) got a terrible case of the stomach flu. He had to be out of work for a whole week!

Near the end of his week off of work, we were sitting in our spare bedroom, where he had been sleeping, and out of the blue he asks me if I'd rather go to Vegas (where we had been planning on going) or Disney World for our honeymoon.

I had to think about it for about a second, when I chose Disney! :woohoo: I had wanted to go back one time as an adult without kids, and the last time either of us had been was when we were teenagers.

We were still in the throes of wedding planning at this point, and knew we wouldn't be able to go right after the wedding, so we planned for our trip to be the end of September into the beginning of October.

At that point, I joined the Dis, got the unofficial guide (from 2005 off eBay :lmao: ), and started dreaming of our disney honeymoon.

We had a fairy tale themed wedding, so it seemed fitting that we would have Disney World be the place for our honeymoon.

Here's a few pictures from our September 30th wedding:

Next time - The real planning begins!

What sweet pictures...and I ~love~ that cake! My wedding invites had a castle on them with the quote "Sometimes dreams really do come true"

I hope all your Disney dreams come true! :goodvibes

Thanks! Our invitations also had a castle, but I forget what it said at the moment. It might have been the same invitation.

I loved our cake - it was yummy and beautiful :goodvibes

I think you picked the right trip! We are headed to Vegas in three weeks, but I am much more excited about Disney in August!

I think so too! I was kinda excited for Vegas when we were still planning on going there, but I'm super duper excited for Disney!

I think sometimes DH thinks I've lost my mind :rotfl:

Next step: Planning!

It's been a long time since I was last at Disney World, and I've never been as adult. Someone on another forum pointed me towards the Dis, and I got very confused right away.

I soon figured out that planning a Disney vacation requires a lot of work, so I decided to enlist the help of a Travel Agent.

Even with her wonderful help, I had a huge hurtle to jump over.

My DH didn't want to plan anything!

I got the planning video and pretty much forced him to watch it. I tried to pin him down to talk about what places he might want to eat at, and tried to show him some of the menus (he was very amused that even the ice cream carts have menus on the Dis :rotfl: )

We finally came to a compromise - I would plan everything, and he would do everything I planned. I was kinda bummed about this, since it is our honeymoon, and I wanted him to help plan.

But I now realize that if I want it to be done, I have to do it myself. :wizard:

Next Time - My plan for when we are at the World!

Hi!

Just wanted to follow another couple's plans for Disney. Love your wedding pics..you guys are so cute!

Looking forward to seeing what you have planned.

Congratulations on your wedding and I hope you have a great time in Disney! :) Your cake looks beautiful :goodvibes

And my boyfriend is exactly the same about the planning, he agreed to do everything I plan, but he really hates planning things. I think planning is a woman-thing :)

Oh, and I went to Vegas last year and it was nice for a couple of days, but I think Disney will be so much more than that! :)

Yay, I'm excited people are reading!!

I really need to start attempting to finalize what ADR's we want so I can mail them to my TA.

Alas, I have a migraine today, so I'm just mindlessly surfing the Dis.

Oh, I should mention here, since I'm thinking about it, since it will have a bearing on our trip to Disney.

I have several health issues that really have me feeling a little worried about Disney.

The first one, and biggest one by far, is the fact that I have daily chronic headaches. Basically I've have the same headache for nearly 4 years now. I'm in constant pain, but most of the time it's bearable. It does get to be migraine bad sometimes (like today, though it's not too terribly bad).

I can't take any medicines for the headache, because none work. And believe me, I've tried them all. I've managed to figure out what my triggers are and found some home type remedies that help me, but I'm afraid that I'll have super bad headache at Disney and not be able to get rid of it.

I had the same fear for my wedding - on my wedding day I felt great, the day after, like crap.

My other issue is that I'm allergic to nuts & shellfish - but I've heard that Disney is great about food allergics, and my TA already knows about them, so I'm not as worried about that.

My 30th Birthday was on Monday, and my co-workers must have noticed that I am super excited about this Disney trip, because my whole cube was decked out in Disney-ness for my birthday!!

Well, we've hit a bit of a snag.

I emailed the ADR's I wanted made, and emailed them to my TA. She responded promptly, letting me know that one of my ADR's would take up two table service credits, and would require a credit card to hold the reservation.

The place in question - The Coral Reef.

We are going to be in Epcot on the exact day of our 1st anniversary, so I wanted to eat two table service meals - I picked the Rose & Crown for supper in hopes of being to watch Illumnations from there.

I checked the Dining part of the Dis, and there are very few places to eat that are in Future World :confused3

So, I'm trying to decide if we want to try and go over to World Showcase for lunch (and which place should I pick?), or if we just eat counter service.

I haven't been to WDW in 13 years so I'm not really sure how long it would take to walk from Future World to the World Showcase.

Any input (if anyone is still reading along that is) would be most appreciated!

Not much going on with my planning - all my ADR's are made, and I've even stopped watching the WDW travel channel shows on a daily basis. I'm trying not to burn out before we even get there :lmao:

But MNSSHP tickets go on sale tomorrow!! And that has me really excited! I already have my LTT ADR all set for the day we want to go to MNSSHP, we just have to get the tickets.

The thing that seems to be weighing on my mind most right now is shoes. I want to be comfortable, but I have a thing about shoes - they have to be at least somewhat cute!

Crocs, as many great reviews I've heard, are not cute in the least - except the mary jane style.

Some of my friends have told me to get chacos instead of the ever so cute mj crocs, so I went to the chaco website.

They were ugly! And really, really expensive!

Now I just need to get out to the mall across town and get me some cute mary jane crocs (in green if they have them), so I have time to break them in before we go.

Not much going on - we are kinda in a lull planning wise.

I did get the army green mary jane crocs, and I love them!

We also have our MNSSHP tickets in hand, which is making me even more exciting.

We are about 4 months out, so not much to do. Plus I have a lot going on this summer, so I've been trying to focus on that.

Still really excited and am hoping this summer flies by!
