My fiance and I are planning to go to Disney World for our honeymoon in early August. I have heard that honeymooners often get special treatment at Disney World. Does anyone know if that is true? We are staying at All-Star Music, which is about the only one we could afford. We would love to get a room upgrade, does that ever happen? Does anyone have any idea which restaurant in EPCOT would be best to eat at? Any other helpful suggestions that would make our honeymoon perfect?

Honeymooners often do get special perks at WDW, but what you receive, if anything, is often up to the cast member you encounter as well as the time of year you are visiting and how crowded and busy the parks are. Room upgrades do happen - we were lucky enough to get upgraded on our honeymoon - but if you really want a specific room type the only way to guarantee it is to pay for it. As for restuarants in EPCOT, I have heard wonderful things about the restautant in the Mexico pavilion, but DH and I have never eaten there ourselves.

Congratulations and Happy Honeymoon!

Don’t worry about staying at a value resort—all of Disney’s resorts are magical and fun. You two will have a wonderful time!

Yes, sometimes upgrades and other special things to happen, but it’s not something that is set in stone. If you have your heart set on an upgraded room, it’s best to go ahead and reserve it in advance so you’re not disappointed. Of course, at the All Star resorts, about the only upgrade you could get would be to a preferred building which might not mean that much to you. You can also request a king bed on your reservation, but it’s not guaranteed.

As far as Epcot restaurants go, our absolute favorite is Le Cellier in the Canada pavilion. The food is absolutely wonderful, and it’s usually very quiet and relaxing in the restaurant. Be sure to try the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup—it’s fantastic! Here is a link to a website with menus of the Epcot restaurants so you can see what appeals to you: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm#epc

Hi and congrats!!!
You definitely need to make Advanced Dinner Reservations or you will have a harder time getting into table service restaurants! Call 407-WDW-DINE to make reservations. If you go to the restaurant board you will all sorts of advice for places to go. Also, if you are going to be at WDW after Aug 13, you can get the Free Dining added to your plan! (if you did a vacation package) You have the opportunity to eat at world class restaurants for free! It's a great deal! You get credits to eat at one Counter Service and one table service place per day per person plus a snack credit for each for each person. Some places take two credits per person so you really need to plan it out. Again, if you go to the restaurant board there is a specific thread for the Disney Dining Plan and get all your questions answered!!

As far as free upgrades and other disney magic, wear your ears, get your honeymooner badges from Guest Services so that people know you are on your honeymoon...If CM's know, then at the very least you get a hearty congrats from most people!!!

good luck and check out that Restaurant board!!! It's extremely helpful!!! princess: :wizard:
