Just found your PTR. You are going to LOVE AKL. We stayed there last summer and I could have happily just hung around the hotel all day if I wouldn't have missed Disney. It was really lovely!!! Thank you and to DH for your miltary service! I am so glad Disney honors the military which great discounts. I hope you have a great trip and a wonderful anniversary!

Yay for another day at Disney!!!

*Sigh* Between you and my sister (who just got back from Disney and stayed at AKL and loved it!), I'm really starting to get sad about not staying there anymore! I'm actually considering a split stay...the first few days at WL, and the last few days at AKL but I'm not sure yet. I'd like to rent DVC points if I do that, so I'll have to find out if they even have studios available.

I am so excited!

I think that a split stay would be a great idea! That way you would get to be at your WL for at least a few nights so you won't have the separation anxiety, then you can try AKL for a few night!

I can't believe we will be there for 7 nights! I changed my ticker, and I'm glad I did because it's very satisfying seeing it move so quickly!

I am so glad to hear that you love AKL. I am definitely planning at least one day where we have no park plans so we can explore the resort! Thank you so much for saying that! You are so sweet. It is always so nice when DH is recognized for his service. Disney really does treat the military right! Another reason to love it!

Hi everyone! Oh my gosh, I can't believe I have been neglecting my poor little PTR when my trip is SO close! I have been so busy with work and trying to get things together for the trip that I almost completely forgot about it! Well, I'm here now with several random updates for you!

First, John and I went shopping over the weekend and hit up some GREAT Memorial Day sales! We went to Old Navy and John got some new shirts and shorts, and I got two dresses that were on sale for $6 each!

I got that color and then a black one as well. They are just like the flowery dress I already bought, and I think I will wear these to the parks over my bathing suit to keep cool. Speaking of bathing suits, I got a new one of those too! Old Navy had their suits on sale for $10, so I bought a really cute two piece. It's black with really bright Hawaiian flowers all over it. I don't have a picture but I LOVE it and it's super comfy!

I also bought this tank top to wear over a bathing suit. I loved the lime green color! It's very summery.

Okay, now I have bigger news than the shopping. I'll give you two guesses what I did, but you're only going to need one! I changed our vacation plans again! John and I have been having some very long discussions about our pre-Disney plans and neither of us was happy with what we had planned out. John decided that he didn't want to go to the Kennedy Space Center (yippee!) and I am thinking I don't really want to go to the outlets. I would rather save all of my money for Disney shopping!

So, we changed our plans around, and here's what we've come up with now! We will leave on June 8th, which is a day earlier than we originally planned. I have a mani/pedi appointment that morning, so we will probably leave around 1 or 2pm. We will drive as far as we want to go and then stop for the night. I am guessing we will probably stop somewhere in Florida. The next morning (June 9th) we will get up, drive the rest of the way to Orlando, and visit the Titanic Museum! We are guessing this will take quite a while, which is fine because after that we will go check in at...

Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando! I am really excited about this because I have heard really good things about the Universal hotels. We are only going to be staying for one night, but still! I will get to experience the luxury four diamond hotels that try to compete with Disney!

In the evening on the 9th we will go to Universal CityWalk to eat dinner and explore a little bit. I am thinking we will eat dinner at either Margaritaville or Bubba Gump Shrimp!

On the morning of the 10th we will wake up bright and early, check out of our hotel, store our luggage in the lobby, and head to Islands of Adventure! One reason I am so excited to be staying at Loews Royal Pacific is we get to get into IOA an hour early, so we can really get a jump on our time in the WWoHP!

Now, originally we were just going to do the one park pass at Universal, but John bought our tickets at his Army base the other day and accidently bought the one day Park 2 Park pass, so we can go to the regular Universal park now too. This is where staying at Loews comes in handy again, because we also get free Express Passes (Universal's version of Fast Passes) for all of the rides. This means after we finish up our morning at IOA we are going to head to US and use our Express Passes to ride as many rides as we can!

This will bring us up to the evening of the 10th, which is when we will go check in at AKL in Disney! I think that is all of the changes we made. I am hoping nothing else with change, especially since we leave in 6 days, but with me you never know!

We stayed in the Hard Rock hotel once, but that was a while ago. I def think it's worth it if you are only going ot have al imited time at Universal since the hotel guests get such good perks.

On our cruise, we went to Grand Turk, and they have a Margaritaville there. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was, and how reasonable the pricing was compared to Senor Frogs which is similar in atmosphere. I love all the shopping at Citywalk too.

I can't believe you have managed to keep your secret about AKL! I don't know if I could do it!

Wow at changing your plans again and staying at Leows Royal Pacific Resort! I have read reviews of the Universal resorts and you guys will have a blast! Also on having the Express passes – you will manage to do everything in both parks with no problems.

I really love Margaritaville! We usually go to Myrtle Beach SC every summer and they have on there. The atmosphere is so fun!

Okay, please excuse the corny Britney Spears reference in the title, but I thought it was fitting because...you guessed it...I've changed our plans again! I know I'm probably about to give you all whiplash with the changes I've been making on this trip, but I just can't help myself! When I see an opportunity for more fun and a good deal to boot I just can't resist!

So, here's what happened. I was online today researching military discounts in Orlando. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, just messing around. Well, lo and behold, I stumble across a site that says Sea World gives 1 day FREE park admission to any active duty service member and his/her dependents! A free day at Sea World? A place I've never been before? Well well well...

So I did what any self respecting vacation fanatic would do. I hopped on the phone with Sea World, verified that this is in fact the case, and immediately started the working of changing our plans so that we can squeeze in some FREE time with Shamu!

Alright, here's what's changed since my last update. I moved my mani/pedi appointment to 2:30 on Wednesday, June 7. We will still be leaving on June 8, but we will be leaving pretty early in the morning, probably around 8:00. We will drive all the way to Orlando and check in at Loews Royal Pacific Resort in Universal for TWO nights. Both of these nights, of course, are at the 30% off military discount rate!

On June 9 we will wake up bright and early and spend the day at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. For dinner that night we will eat at City Walk, and we will check out the following morning. Then, on the morning of June 10, we will go to...

Neither of us have ever been here (unless you count when I was six months old) so we are both really excited to explore for most of the day. Then that evening we will check in at Disney!

I hope you all can forgive my crazy vacation changes. I have made a solemn vow that this will really be the last one. I mean, the trip is only four days away. How much more can I change? ...

I love that this trip keeps changing! How awesome that you were able to get FREE tickets to Sea World?! It's been a few years since I've been but I remember having a great time the last time I was there. I think they've added some new attractions too, so I can't wait to see your pics and hear about your time there. And yay for getting to stay another night at Universal!

Yay free Sea World tix! I wouldn't be able to pass that up either! Brandon and I did Sea World in 2009 and it was fun! They have a crazy roller coaster there that I only went on once and said I would never go on again, and I LOVE roller coasters! It's SO scary...Manta...ugh...never again!
