After being engaged for 5 years we are finally trying to come up with a wedding plan. I always said I wanted to wait til I am done with school, and in Dec it will be official- no more school :)

So, we only want something small (like less than 50 people). I always told fiance I could get married in a court house, i could care less, unless I was getting a Disney Wedding of course, but I think that would be a lot of money, and I think it would be a lot to ask 50 people to get on a plane, fly to Disney, and pay for a hotel. So we are thinking a little beach ceremony maybe June or Aug 2010, not really sure.

Here's the thing though, we would honeymoon in Disney because DD would come a long. Since DD will be with us, I kind of feel that it won't feel like a honeymoon KWIM? It would feel like a regular Disney vacation (which I love anyways. But I do want her there b/c my mom would be way too nervous watching her for a week. Are there packages for honeymoons? how expensive is it?

Also, if we do get hitched in Aug, my fam was actually thinking of going to Disney (Aunt, Uncle, 3 boys, mom, dad, sister), is this insane to go on a "honeymoon" with the whole family?

We're a pretty funny family I must say.

Any honeymoon info is welcome.

I feel like I am always on this board trying to find a way to get to Disney sooner than later haha.

I do not beleive there are any specific packages for honeymoons, you just book the regular way and customize what you would like to do.

Here is some of what were are planning

- WDW tours http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tours.htm
- Fireworks cruise http://www.wdwinfo.com/recreation/fireworks.htm
-We will also eat at some of the more upscale romantic restaurants we wouldn't normally eat at, and stay in a deluxe hotel of villa instead of a value.

As for your DD, there are babysitting services available http://www.wdwinfo.com/just_for_kids/childcare.htm

Good luck with your planning!

I do not think that you are being weird if your whole family goes with you on your honeymoon... in fact you would have babysitting if you wanted to do something by yourselves... your daughter would have a great time being with the other people and kids if they are going...

we are getting married this Fourth of July and leaving on the 8th to go on our honeymoon in WDW... we are going with 13 other people and are looking forward to it.. I am taking my two kids and have planned a few things with just my husband and I while the other family watches my kids...

I guess that makes my family just as nuts as yours to do this... I guess it really depends on your family and the type of honeymoon you are trying to enjoy.... I am fine with taking my kids and having a "Familymoon"...

Be sure to wear your pins or bridal hats and you do get "FREEBIES" sometimes.. at least special recongition in places... I know that Epcot at the American Pavilion has a special recording when you go into the show that you can listen to before the show starts and the cast member will usually announce your name and wedding date before the show... I have heard about free deserts being given out and sometimes little gifts left in your room... nothing of real value just a little something....

not sure if i helped or not :rotfl:

We have planned a Disneymoon, but there is no special pricing package for honeymoons.

They do have a Disney Honeymoon Registry though. This could be good your household is more "established". Once you have your Disney package booked you can add your confirmation number to the registry and get started.

Another thind you might be interested in, is renting points to stay DVC. Especially if your family joins you. And, you could probably do something special with the Grand Gathering.

And like lifeafterkids said, you would be able to have babysitting service, so that you and your new hubby could take a night out, whether to dinner or to a park.

Lots of possibilities!

When I tell people I am going to Disney World for my honeymoon they often ask me if I am bringing my three daughters along. So its not strange in the least. I mean in the long run... marriage, honeymoon, children, family... they all go hand in hand, so why not celebrate with those you love? It is just more "traditional" that children come after marriage, so I think this is why some people would be suggestive that children shouldn't go on honeymoons.

I decided to leave my children at home with my mother, because for one, they will be in school, and two... ahhhhh vacation, I deserve it :)
