I've been reading the posts on this board in an effort to educate myself about USF/IOA and HRH, PBH, and RPH. I've also taken a gander at the "official" website as well as telephoned for rates in June 2003.

In reading I see repeated mention of the "Entertainment Club" book. The logo appears to be the same as the Entertainment Card and the association it has with the Disney Club Card.

Does anyone know if the Entertainment Card aspect of the Disney Club Card is an acceptable alternative to purchasing the Entertainment Book? Also, is the check-in process like that of Disney when using an AP or DC discount--no one even bothers to ask if you have it?

I would also like to confirm my belief that discounted rates will not be available until later in the fall--as early as October and maybe as late as November? (Seems to be very Disneylike. :) )

And one final question, what are the cabana rentals at HRH all about? I've seen mention of them but not real detail about them, i.e., cost--choosing a location, when to rent, etc.

We are seriously considering a driving trip (two weeks) to Orlando for the first time. We have never done USF/IOA (we have a ride wimp in the family, but also two teens and a coaster lovin' mother) and thought if we drove, we might try several nights (maybe a day at each park and a day to lay back at the hotel & do CityWalk at night) at HRH either before or after WDW.

We typically stay at concierge in Disney and are also curious about the Club Level service at HRH. Any and all information would be appreciated that could compare the two services.

I just know there are some very knowledgeable people on this board that can bring me up to speed about USF/IOA and the hotels! I've been around the DIS boards for a very long time, but am a complete neophyte at the Universal side! :D

The Disney Club Card with the Entertainment logo is NOT accepted at the Universal hotels.
As far as asking to see the Entertainmnet card--sometimes they ask for it, sometimes they don't.
