Hello all, this is tips from when I worked for the company with reservations and dining priority seating that you may find useful for your trip. First off NEVER EVER call Disney asking a cast member if there are any specials running at the current time because they are NOT given a list of discounts to start listing off of. The best way to find out what discounts there are is the number 1 source called www.disneyworld.com. You will usually see a popup in the bottom righthand corner of the screen with something. Also a good thing is to provide cast members at the reservation center with your email address because Disney marketing likes to send out special offers occasionally via email or postal mail. Also make sure you are ready to provide your info or verify it at least when they ask because if a cast member finds availability and doesn't have your info then they CANNOT book the reservation therefore maybe causing you to lose it to another guest calling in especially when you get a discount on the room. Make sure that if you have 8 or more PAYING guests then to have EVERYONE'S address and phone numbers and ages of children because they will have to book you as a grand gathering which turns out in your favor at the beginning of your vacation, trust me!!! Any more questions please feel free to email me or post your response on here!!! Mahalo and as stitch would say, Welcome to the Stitch Kingdom and Meeda Lala Krista hahahahaha!!! ::MickeyMo

Ok so you mention gatherings - when I started planning this vacation it was just three people - we are up to 9 now - what exactly does a gathering do for me?

A Grand Gathering is the way that Disney notifies the Resort that you are staying in that you are large party traveling together. Also it makes 4 different experiences become available for booking like dining that are only available to grand gatherings. You can also get itinerary planning printouts, setup photo sessions in the resorts and purchase merchandise customized to the name you give your gathering. :wizard:

I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. I called to book a reservation and I just asked the person on the phone to give me a quote with any discounts they offer. She immediatly gave me a quote which was significantly lower than the web site.

And did she explain to you as to why you got any sort of discount? They might have attached something they sent you in the mail or email to your info and they automatically give you that sometimes without telling you.

nope...she didn't say anything. She just gave me a quote. I have never received anything in the mail nor in emails either.

You know you'd be surprised of what they would've sent you and never recieved. I couldn't begin to count how many people would call in and not even would've recieved anything. Another thing is what were you booking? Just a room only or a package?
