A Disney-addicted mom plans a trip in August, 2010! *New pics #574*

Cinderella arrived yesterday but we lost power (with no estimate of when we'll have power again) so the kids will have to wait. We're staying at my MIL's house which is only 10 min away so hopefully we'll be able to run home and get a few more things. They've declared a state of emergency in our town so we're not allowed to drive until noon! When we were trying to decide where to stay last night, my son announced that we should just go to Disney! What a great idea!!!

Terrible about the power loss and state of emergency, but too funny re: your son's idea about where to stay!

Hopefully things are getting back to normal soon! Afterall, you have Cinderella to enjoy - LOL!:)

I just told my DH about your half-marathon. He said we can go to Disney in January, 2011 if I run a half-marathon! I'm going to think about it!!! You're such an inspiration. I'm going to try to increase my training efforts....

Amanda

There ya go! Sign up and you get to plan another trip! :thumbsup2 What's the worst that will happen? You get swept and don't get a medal. Disappointing, but not a big deal. :goodvibes

Well, I really have no advice because Karen is the true master. ;)

So sorry about the power! I hope it gets fixed soon!!!

No power stinks. Having to stay in my MIL's living room really sucks!

My DH ran home to get some things that we need and I asked to him to grab Cinderella!

:lmao: Somehow winning a medal didn't even figure into my thoughts! I'd just be happy to cross the finish line at all....

Amanda

My kids watched Cinderella at my MIL's while my DH and I ran home to get more "necessities." My 6 year old said it was too girly but my 4 year old thought it was great. Definitely the expected response! ;) I hope I get to watch it with them because I haven't seen it in decades!

Now I need to decide if I'm capable of putting in the time for a half-marathon...

If you are anything like me, you will actually like most of these movies better the 2nd time as an adult!

I don't have any advise for you on the Half!:rotfl: My DH started running last year and ran his 1st half last month. He placed 36th out of a couple hundred. I think his time was 1:42. He has no running background and did no special training apart from his regular runs - just showed up for the event. And he never ran outside before until the day of the Half. I thought I wanted to try to take up running so we could do events together but that is what I am up against. So I am still on the couch.:rotfl:

Then the Couch to 5K is perfect for you! And we could run together in January..... ;)

I am definitely going to do the Half at WDW...I just don't think I can be ready for this January.:rolleyes1 I have already done two 5k's at WDW - the Minnie in 2007 and the EEC in 2008. Next race I am definitely doing the Half...only problem is that I haven't run since the EEC in 2008!

You're way ahead of me then! I was an athlete - back in high school - but never a runner. And then I had 3 c sections in 4 years. I have a crazy lifestyle - long work hours and 3 little kids - but I use that as an excuse more than I have to. My nanny is awesome about starting dinner so I can go to the gym. I really want to finish a 5K and try for the half-marathon. January is quite far away still!

Amanda

subbing so I can come back and read later! Can't wait to see your plans!

Welcome! I'm an inconsistent PTR person but I have a short trip coming up in less than a month so I guess I need to get planning!:cool1:

Amanda

Alright, I caught up! I love it so far! How exciting that you have a trip so close! Seems like you have everything ready for that already.

I'm sure you and DH will have a great time! I'm sure you'll love some alone time...3 kids in 4 years? :worship: Not for me! :scared1:  Luckily I've got time on my side (I'm 24, DH is 25) so we just plan on waiting until both kids are in school and we'll talk about having more then. But for now, you're my hero! Can't wait to read about your trip with all those babies of yours! (You still consider your 6 year old a baby, right? :rotfl: Don't all moms feel that way?)

We definitely are suckers for the "stay on property" Magical Express gimic. They knew what they were doing! Not having to lug carseats? I would PAY for magical express. The fact that it's free just makes it that much better.

I'd love to see Hogwarts, but the rest of Universal doesn't seem that great. Maybe when my kids are big I'll go.

And I'm glad to see you planning so many trips already. Right now I'm planning September 2010, Feb and April 2011, August/September 2011, and Disneyland July 2012! :lmao: It's a sickness, I swear!

You are definitely my kind of Disney fanatic! :lovestruc My MIL just offered to lend me her treadmill so I can prepare for the half-marathon. It's totally crazy but I think I'm going to do it. And I'm stubborn enough to make it happen!
My 3 kids in 4 years wasn't totally optional. All 3 are infertility babies and I'm 38 (going on 39 this year - yikes!). I certainly wasn't going to risk waiting any longer. We've been very blessed with 3 healthy and wonderful children but it wasn't easy. Lots and lots of fertility drugs and stress. Plus 3 miscarriages in there. And I've spent enough time in the infertility scene to know that I'm one of the lucky ones. And I am thankful each day!!!

Still no power. Still at my MIL's house. And they're estimating Friday before we get power back. At least there's Dis! ;)

Amanda

Yikes Amanda! Still no power?! Ugh!

As for the failure to run and/or exercise, I know what you mean about blaming it on work and a busy lifestyle. That has been my theme song. Then you read or hear about the women who get up at 4:30am to get in their morning run. I hang my head in shame.:sad2:

I have also been singing from the "pregnancy did this to me" songbook. That is, until just this week when my husband stuck a photo of us on the fridge taken when DS4 was only weeks old. And I was looking much better then than I look now - so that blew that theory to shreds:rotfl:

I am about to leave for a business trip in 2 days, and will be gone for 4 days. I am not going to pretend that I can start something now. However, once I get back on Sunday I am going to start to whip myself in shape. I am too close now to my trip for it to make much difference, but I am determined to finally turn my sedentary lifestyle around for once and for all!;)

That's awesome, you should do the half marathon! about being stubborn enough, I'm like that too!

Aww, that makes me so happy that you have your three babies! We had a hard road getting pregnant with DS (not nearly as hard as you did, but it took a long time and we had an early miscarriage along the way. And I don't know what happened with DD, she was a fluke!) so I completely feel for anyone who has trouble getting pregnant...it was such a horrible road for us, I was so stressed out and depressed, so I can only imagine if it had taken longer or required more intervention. Then I get difficult high-risk pregnancies, so I really feel like my body just hates being pregnant. I'm sure being pregnant is fun for some people, but the whole experience is just terrible for me. Other couples with infertility issues have a special place in my heart, for sure. Having three after that sort of thing is amazing! :lovestruc You ARE the luckiest mom in the world! And still, I stick to my :worship: because that many small kids is a lot of work! But I can only imagine them at disney...that's going to be great because ALL of them are such good ages for it!

Well, the dis will keep you company in MIL's living room until the power comes back. I can't believe it's still out and might be out until FRIDAY! We had a big storm here in 2006 and we didn't have power for a week and a half...but no one had power so we just had to deal. It was not fun. My dad went to work nights just because his plant was really far away and there was power on...he figured why not, at least it was bright and warm while we huddled in the dark for warmth here! :rotfl:

The Cinderella DVD is on its way to us thanks to Blockbuster.com. Sadly I think we'll have to wait until next weekend because they're estimating a Monday arrival date. It's too bad because it is raining and cold! Oh well!!!

My DME packet for the April trip arrived! It makes it all so much more real!!!

Amanda

Oh, I was so excited when the DME packet arrived for our last trip. Can't wait to see that again in a few months. It's super exciting!!!

Cinderella arrived yesterday but we lost power (with no estimate of when we'll have power again) so the kids will have to wait. Bummer that you lost power, especially on Cinderella night! I also think that Disney would have been a great place to stay during your power outage. Did you not agree ? :rotfl: That's so cute!

I totally wish we were staying at Disney during the power outtage! :lmao: Especially since school has been closed all week. If school doesn't open tomorrow, they'll have to add make-up days.

I haven't had time for anything Disney. Between work, no school, and being displaced from our home, life is pretty crazy right now. And the little guy isn't sleeping at all!

I do think I'm going to sign up for the half-marathon in January. I suspect that it will motivate me to get moving!!!

Amanda

I just registered for the Disney half-marathon! OMG! I can't even believe it!!!

Amanda

:cheer2: Go Amanda Go! :cheer2:

I hope your power comes back on! I cannot imagine being without it for so long--talk about throwing off schedules.
