A Disboutiquer's "just another trip report" --THE END! updated 8/28

Yay! Updates! I enjoyed reading them. Your pictures are always great and you really had a nice day at AK.

Kind of a bummer for that family who spent their day on a hunt for stuff and never found it, but what a compliment to you!

You have me wondering what could go so wrong on a meal...

great update and pics.

the shirts do look great.

Boma I would love to try once.

Cannot wait to hear about the next day.

Sounds like a fabulous AK day! Love the shirts. ESPECIALLY the green bow on Lily's!

Thats awesome that you all got to go on lots of rides and had such nice weather!!! :cool1: (And missed a snowstorm to boot!) I love all of the pics and the AK outfits are wonderful. How funny that the poor family was looking all over for them.... ;) Can't wait to hear more!!!

PS....I hate seagulls for that very reason....they steal stuff right out of your hands! :headache:

It sure makes me want to go back again!!! I love Bomas, we ate there last year with my parents. It was great! I love it that those people were trying to find your outfits to buy!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Our kids didn't get much attention in any of the outfits I made, :confused3 and I was a little disapointed!

So, I will live through you, and bask in your glory!!!! (I need a basking smiley)

I can't wait for your next installment!!! Get busy girly!

Love the newest installment! I am still so jealous of all the CA pictures! I miss that place so much! I even want to trade our Oct trip from WDW to DL, but airfare is killing me right now!

I love the outfits today! Lily's hair does look like Cindy Brady in that picture! but I would have never thought of it on my own and I LOVED the Brady Bunch.

Jeanne, that reminds me of the one boutiquer who sold her daughters hairbows off of her head at the grocery store... Do you remember that story???:rotfl: Anywho, I have been totally lurking (shame on me) for the past 2 weeks trying to catch up. You know I don't have to tell you how adorable your outfits are I already have...I loved the comment that the big kids were Lily's accessories... a girl can never have too many accessories:cutie:

Anyway, loving your TR. If you wanna feel less lame you can check out my pre-trip trip pre-trip report...here's a link

Great updates!!

You must have felt so good when those people asked about your shirts. You should have offered to make them some! :lmao:

Looking forward to another Epcot day. :thumbsup2

Loved all the upadates!

Calif sounds wonderful. I have never been, and you just moved it up a whole bunch of notches on my travel wish list! We love AG place (have been to the one in NYC).

Sounds like a great day at AK. Love the outfits. So cool that someone was searching the shops for them! :thumbsup2

My kids like to ride Kali over & over too.

Maybe you should make some business cards, it could be a way to finance the future WDW vacations.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The AK outfits are really cute, I can see why you rec'd the compliments.

Wow, I am LOVING your trip report.Your kids are all BEAUTIFUL. I love all of thier outfits, no wonder people wanted to buy them.Way too cute!

The kids wanted to go check out The Boneyard, so that is where we headed next. They really had fun. I really got bored and tired of trying to keep my eyes on 4 kids running in different directions while DH yakked it up with some other parent sitting on a bench.

IMG_0706-1.jpg

IMG_0707-1.jpg

After this, we went and bought a few pins and did a little trading. It was just about parade time so the streets were getting crowded. We were tired and it was getting close to time for our Boma ressies, so we thought we’d skip the parade and try to beat the bus traffic out of there. We had a nice little ride over to AKL where we sat on the verandah and watched the animals a bit.

IMG_0708-1.jpg

DH took DS8 to the potty and never returned and never answered his cell phone so we headed down to Boma and checked in. Finally just as they call our name, DH and DS8 show up. We were tired and I was worried about how the kids would behave at dinner but no worries. They LOVED Boma, especially DS8 who is the pickiest eater with no appetite. He was in heaven.

IMG_0710-1.jpg

I can’t even remember the foods, but I know I liked everything—except the meat. I’m not a fan of rare meat. DH loved it though, and the sauces they had for the meats. But I was very happy with all the salads and veggie dishes and fruits. Great restaurant for a vegetarian, which I’m not, but ate like one that night. The kids loved their fruit and mac n cheese and chicken strips and also tried a lot of new foods.

She's not really stabbing herself in the eye, I'm just a little short on pictures for this installment ::yes::

IMG_0709-1.jpg

So Boma gets a :thumbsup2 for sure.

After dinner we headed off to the gift shop. While there with all the kids in their matching shirts, a couple—probably old enough to be my parents—see us and shout “there they are!” and come running up to us.

They say “WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE SHIRTS? We saw you earlier in the park and have been in every shop at Animal Kingdom, and now came over here looking for them and haven’t seen them in ANY shops and no one seems to know what we were talking about!” I said “I made them” and their faces just fell. I felt bad they were disappointed but they made my day!! They loved my shirts!! In hindsight, it WAS the end of our day. I should’ve just said, “buy my kids shirts in this here gift shop, and I’ll give you the sweaty ones off their backs.” :rotfl2:

We waited forever for a bus back to wherever we went, I can’t remember, back to AK, or to MK or DTD or somewhere where we then caught another bus back to our hotel.

Here we are waiting:

Finally on the bus:

We got back to our room and found this:

Which thrilled DD10 to no end. She LOVES monkeys!!

We had a great day at AK, we did not get to see everything I wanted to see (hello! Festival of the Lion King!) but that just means we have to go back some day right?

Up next: It’s already day 7! Back to Epcot, a surprise DISmeet, Akershus, DHS, and the dinner from H E double hockey sticks.

Your kids are beautiful, the outfits are adorable and I loved reading your TR, thanks.

A great update! I finally have read just about evrythng! It has taken a while. I know what it is like to wait with a little one. This year our youngest is finally tall enough to fide most of the rides!

Disneyland looked really fun too. One day we will get there....but for now I guess we will have to settle for the world!:rotfl:

That is so neat that those people looked for your shirts!! We had many cm's and guests ask about our tye dye shirts last year. It felt really good!

What a wonderful installment!!! I loved all the pictures!

Tessa rode on EE too. She isn't scared of roller coasters and such, but like Luke, she was scared of the Yeti and the dark.

Tessa said she didn't know Luke could drive AND do karate. He just keeps earning points in her book. :thumbsup2

How cool that those people had been hunting all over the place for the shirts you made.
I think if Tessa and Luke get over their fake shyness they will be the bestest of friends

Airfare is outta control! When we went in 2001 it was $198, for 2009 it is $575, over $600 once you add fees and taxes. :scared1:

Lily didn't get much attention in the next day's outfit and it was one of my favorites! :confused3

All caught up!!! Keep it coming!

I'm workin' on it! Almost done!

settle for the world :rotfl2: :lmao: I LOVE Disneyland, but Disneyworld is my favorite place ever!

This morning we had ADRs at Akershus for the princess breakfast. We got dressed and out the door and started for the bus stop. I was a follower/mostly lurker on scottny’s trip report and I knew he was also staying at POR with his cousins. As we were walking along the trail to the bus stop, I saw a guy (in a purple shirt) and 3 kids walking a ways ahead of us. I thought to myself, “that looks kind of like scottny and his 3 cousins! Hmmm…if we catch up I’ll have to say hi!” They rounded a corner and the next thing I knew, Scott was jogging back down the trail towards us. He flew past me and I thought to myself “yep, that was definitely Scott.” I figured he must’ve forgotten something back at his room. :confused3 We found ourselves seats on the bench waiting for the Epcot bus. Scott’s cousins were over at the other stop on their way to a different park. We waited…and waited…no bus yet. Scott came running back, this time in a green shirt (or maybe I have the colors reversed. My memory is fading) and joined his cousins. Still no bus. So I demanded of my children “STAY HERE WITH DADDY, I’LL BE RIGHT BACK!” and I strolled over to the other bus stop to say hi. Only 2 of my kids followed. I said hi to Scott and told him who I was. I think he knew who I was. He does now anyway! I made the mistake of telling him we were on our way to breakfast at Akershus. This turned out to be disastrous for the scottny clan. If you haven’t read it yet, you can hear his side of the story on his TR. Finally our bus arrived and we were off to Epcot.

Our ADR’s were pretty early, before the park opened. When we arrived we stood in the “special line” for people with breakfast ADRs.

IMG_0718-1.jpg

Soon they let us in and we walked to Norway. It was cool seeing the park empty! It was really pretty and peaceful.

DH and Seth:

IMG_0720-1.jpg

We checked in at Akershus and waited for our name to be called.

IMG_0721-1.jpg

Look! A birdie!

IMG_0722-1.jpg

IMG_0727-1.jpg

I think someone’s askeered of Maelstrom.:rotfl:

IMG_0728-1.jpg

Then our name was called and we went in to meet Belle. She was very sweet.

IMG_0730-1.jpg

IMG_0733-1.jpg

IMG_0731-1.jpg

Then a CM took us back to our table (right by the door the princesses come out of—I KNOW—everyone seems to get seated here!) Our waiter came and introduced himself. I can’t remember his difficult to pronounce Norweigan name. DH was trying to learn how to pronounce it and the guy was NOT PLAYING ALONG. He was really grumpy! Now I have to say, this was not my favorite meal AT ALL. The food was “meh” good thing I really LOVE potatoes! The service was not good, hostile even. The princesses were pretty good though. Luke was suddenly and surprisingly VERY SHY to the point of even hiding under the table. He refused to be in any photos. Ariel was really cute about teasing him and trying to coax him out from under the table.

IMG_0739-1.jpg

Is anyone else kinda scared of Mulan’s makeup in this photo?

IMG_0740-1.jpg

IMG_0742-1.jpg

When we finished breakfast World Showcase still wasn’t open yet so we walked back over to:

IMG_0765-1.jpg

IMG_0746-1.jpg

...which as you may be able to tell from all the empty seats between my car and DH’s, was still in soft opening. We were glad we got to ride. We had never been on this ride before. The kids thought it was great.

Wow, they really look alike in this photo!

IMG_0745-1.jpg

Here I am in the car behind theirs rednecking the photo. Lily was too short to be seen in our photo.

IMG_0747-1.jpg

Hey! It's me!

IMG_0753-1.jpg

IMG_0756-1.jpg

IRL these two would never have such a cordial breakfast together. :sad2:

IMG_0755-1.jpg

IMG_0754-1.jpg

They had a lot of fun playing games when we got off the ride.

IMG_0759-1.jpg

We had not made it over to Canada yet so we went to visit DH’s Homeland. We even saw the movie!

IMG_0777-2.jpg

These pictures remind the kids of Grandpa's house (well the island he lives on):

IMG_0775-2.jpg

IMG_0769-1.jpg

Then we had to go take some phone booth pics.

IMG_0771-1.jpg

Then we caught the monorail to the T&TC where we took a bus to DHS.

Up Next: Day 7 part two: DH Hams it up at DHS!!

ETA: Just for Auntie Teresa, due to the severe shortage of Luke photos in this installment, here are a few stock photos of Luke:
