That's me - CRAFT IMPAIRED!!!! :rotfl:

You should have seen the trauma I would go through every time I had to change my bulletin board for the library and think of something eye catching and unique!! :scared:

I will pay to have crafty stuff done so I don't have to! lol:idea:

Excellent. So tell me, what do you think is the difference between the Athens and the Ithaca. Are they both equally as comfy or do you find one to be more comfy than the other?

I still have to wear the Ithaca around some more to be sure. The Athens feel a bit more "squishy" to walk on. Between the toes is definitely different - the Athens being very wide. I think switching them from day to day may work. This will be the first time that I actually wear something besides sneakers to the parks so I'm a bit nervous.

I wanted some Athens DM but have a narrow foot are they really wide????

The Athens are definitely wider. Wait! I take that back. I just went over to look at them and compare the two shoes. I wear a size 8½ - 9 normally - 9 in Crocs. The width on these are:

Athens:
3 inches at heel
3-3/4 inches at start of toes

Ithaca:
3-1/4 inches at heet
4 inches at start of toes

However, the Athens straps that go over the top of the foot sits up higher and is wider while the Ithaca sits down lower and is narrower. Hope this helps you. Sorry about "inches" I don't have a metric measurement tool.

Thanks, don't worry about the inches, I'm very clever and can do both :rotfl2: it's the shoe size that gets me, over here I'm about a 7 which I think is your 9  :rotfl2:

At the official Crocs website they have a chart that you can print out and measure your foot so you know which one to order. Here is a link:

Crocs Sizing Chart

If you are a size 9 and want a navy colored Athens, I'll sell you my pair! I don't know why I ordered the navy - I don't wear them!

Hey, so I don't know how I got so behind but now I am all caught up! Yipee! I am excited for your trip... it's gonna be a good one! And your kids are so cute... and I love your purchase posts... esp. the one with the sunscreen wipes! I didn't know those existed. I bought the spray-on suncreen when I was down in FL, but I ended up not using it. Wipes would have been good, though because in FL, SPF 30 doesn't last ya very long.

Me, too! But after the soggy Reeboks last year, I really am hoping the Crocs come through! I have the Athens, the Beach, and the Cleo, and I talked Bob into getting the Off Road. He's not totally sold on the idea - and Dana is mortified that we both look like goofs. She has the stylish Capris, so she will look just fine, thank you very much. Teenagers! oy!

I'm also bringing my Merrels- but I am taking the risk and NOT taking the sneakers. I have the BodyGlide, so hopefully our tootsies will be comfy!!:cool1:

Well thank you for finally catching up! It's getting pretty boring now just waiting. I'll post anything I can think of just to keep this going! Didn't you put on sunscreen though? It must have been a killer being out almost every day for 3 months for you. I guess the restrooms may have been a haven for you! :lmao:

I couldn't find the capris and didn't want to pay extra for shipping. So I settled for the Ithaca. I think the Ithaca's are quite stylish though. I did try on the Cleo's and did not like the way they fit my feet. The straps across my toes didn't feel right and I knew that would mean blisters even with the Body Glide! Rob will have nothing to do with any Crocs. I tried to sway him but nope. I don't really care - it's his feet. I just have to worry about mine and the kids - and that's enough.

Hey DM--
sorry to interrupt the shoe talk! I will try to get you a pic tomorrow--I have 2 sick kids today and a clingy cat--so that is cutting into my DIS time!

I personally felt the "inbetween the toe" strap on the capris was a little too thick.. but I couldn't find my size anyway, so that took care of the decision! :goodvibes

I really like the Cleo's because they look almost "dressy". I don't think I'd wear them for any length of time - but I think running back to Epcot for dinner they should be just fine. (Hopefully!!!) ;)

Good morning, DawnMaree!!! Appletini here signing on for the ride!

Love your pre trips - especially the 1997 one. DH and I were there on our honeymoon that year and I remember that ghastly birthday cake castle.

I look forward to hearing how the crocs work out. I've worn my Niles the last two trips and LOVE them!! I want to get me some Athens too....

You have me jealous I won't be down there next month to join in on all the fun!!!

Welcome by good friend Appletini!! Glad that you made it over to my PTR! Ahh...honeymoons in Disney World. Great memories and many more to come!

I'll definitely be writing a TR when we return and I'll probably be posting about a zillion pictures. So, stay tuned!

VERY much looking forward to it! And I have to thank you for the one way trip idea...I'm currently shopping for plane tickets :sad2: and getting depressed.

I need to talk and maybe you all can give me some advice and/or comforting...

Last October when we went to Cape Canaveral a friend of mine watched our dog Jake. She said she wanted to do it for free but I felt way too guilty to have her do it for free. I knew that she was going to Disney World the next week after we returned. We had some old Disney passes that still had waterpark/Pleasure Island options on them (3 options each pass). I told her that she and her husband could use an option or 2 each and then give the passes back to us. That would be a payment that she could agree to. Well, they never ended up using the options.

Now, this upcoming trip she had agreed to watch Jake again. And, again, she wanted no payment. She is leaving for Disney World with her mother and nieces this coming weekend and I was going to buy her a $75 Disney gift certificate. I thought that would work as payment.

Anyway, I was on AOL instant messenger last night saying hi to her. She then told me that her husband had given away the Disney passes that she was supposed to return to me. I was taken aback by it and said, "Oh no! There is about $150 worth given away." Maybe it wasn't the best thing to say. She then said that her DH assumed that the passes were theirs to keep and gave them away. I then said well, we can call it even because you are watching Jake next month. She then typed back, "That is EXACTLY why I said I didn't want any payment because now I feel like I owe you!" I told her not to feel that way and she should call me.

Now, while we were "chatting" on AOL I knew that she was also on the phone with Staples for some reason. She then suddenly got off AOL without saying goodbye or replying. I called her - no answer. Called her cell phone and left a message. No return call. Called back to her home a bit later and talked with her DH who said she went to Staples and left her cell at home but he would have her call me later. No call later. I called again this morning and left yet another message on her home phone. No return call.

I am now freaking out wondering if she will even watch Jake now. I felt bad about the passes because that was money out of our pocket but because she was watching Jake I thought it would be all settled. I can't keep calling and now, like I said, I am totally freaking out.

Please help settle my nerves....and thanks for listening!

I can "feel" your anxiety in your post. What a sticky situation. I would of been upset too, if it were my passes given away. Maybe she thought they were hers no matter what:confused3 . Its always hard when people say they dont want payment. Its like you want to do something, but you dont want to do too much without offending them.
Being a dogsitter myself I would LOVE if somebody gave me disney passes as a payment.I think that would be better then cash;)
