Stayed at the Yacht club November 1st - 7th. This was our first stay in the Epcot resort area and we loved the many choices in the boardwalk area. This trip was my dh, ds (10) and I.

Yachtsman Steakhouse: This was our favorite. We were lucky enough to have dinner here on our first and last night. A solid A+. Excellent steaks but a surprise was the Grouper with crab/corn pancakes that my husband had. Also great were the mushrooms. Skip the cold seafood appetizer and go for the diver scallops.

Cape May Clam Bake: Much better than i expected. This is a good value for the price (26.99). The clams and mussels were very good. My husband thought the crab legs were ok (snow) and that the peel and eat shrimp were not so good. They could use another true fish dish besides the mahi mahi and the desserts are nothing special. All in all we enjoyed the meal and would go back.

Kousinna - loved loved loved it. My son's spanikopita was one of the best i have ever had. The whole fish and pork were great entrees. Baklava was a little disappointing.

Il Mulino - This is the Italian Restaurant in the Swan. we really enjoyed this meal. It is quiet and a nice break from the usual Disney swirl. The fish dishes and pasta were both excellent.

The Wave (Contemporary) - This was our favorite surprise. We were looking for a healthier option in the MK area and stumbled on this. The food is mostly organic and geared towards healthy choices but this is not a health food restaurant per se. The make their own soups. The black bean chilli is great. My husband had a fish special and I had a cinnamon rubbed pork that was excellent. The best part was a trio of sugar free desserts. The creme brulee tasted just like the real thing. My son's hamburger was served on a whole grain bun and looked better than the normal one's.

Yak and Yeti - this was a great lunch in the AK. I loved the chicken lettuce wraps while my husband preferred the beef and broccolli. we both loved the pork pot stickers. I would skip the fried rice as it was just ok.

Wolf Gang Pucks Cafe - terrific lunch. my husband liked the spinach salad but thought the salmon was a bit dry. I had the chicken aioli pocket which was cold chicken with onions and lettuce. it was perfectly season and mixed like a salad. My son had the most interesting children's item. It was a chicken role. It was wrapped like sushi with rice but no seaweed and then in the middle there were pieces of chicken figers and cream cheese. It had a honey mustard dipping sauce.

Lunch around the world - we enjoyed a great afternoon of snacking our way through the food and wine festival. The fisherman's pie in the UK, the strawberry shortcake, and the pot stickers were our favorites. I loved the new Kim Possible missions. This kept us busy while we worked our way around. My son had a great time on them and we got to pace our lunch.

Captain's Grill - We had the breakfast buffet twice. It had a nice variety and was very quiet. The eggs benedict was very good and of course they had mickey waffles. This is a nice buffet choice if you are not looking for characters. At $15 it was not a bad price.

Yachtsman Galley - not sure if this is the right name but in the lobby the Yachtsman does had a bar that has coffee and quick grab items in the morning. Much has been written about the lack of counter service at the Yacht Club. For those on the dining plan I can see the issue. Since we were not on the plan, the fruit, cereal, bagels, and muffins were a good choice for when we just wanted something small to hold us until lunch. We did go to the marketplace at the Beach Club one day and had the croissant egg sandwiches. It is a short walk and they have a nice outdoor seating area that we enjoyed. For those looking for a bit more counterservice choices the walk is no big deal and it is on the way to EPCOT.

I would stay at the Yacht club again for many reasons but one of the big reasons was the food options.

Great info. My husband and I are planning a trip for next September. I am trying to get his input for dining. So far he wants to eat at Boma....twice....for dinner and also for breakfast. :lmao:

I am thinking of trying The Wave. We will have 2 young children in our party of 9. How was the atmosphere for young kids?

There were plenty of kids at the wave and our waiter seemed great with the kids. The children's menu had plenty of kid friendly items. I was concerned about it being too "healthy" for my son's taste. In reality they had plenty of good choices. As mentioned, I liked that the bun was whole grain for the hamburger and he said it was good so they did seem to mix the healthy food in a bit.
