A different question about Buffalo airport

I had gone through the FAQ Sticky yesterday and didn't see this addressed so thought I would go and ask.

Last year we flew out of Buffalo (To Puerto Rico) and we did the sleep, park and fly. On Sunday we leave for Disney, at noon, and so we will save a bit of money and just do the drive on Sunday morning and park for the week. Already have the coupon.

What I am hoping to do is drop off my wife and kids, along with our luggage, at the door and then go park and walk back, or take the shuttle. I assume this is a doable plan? I had looked at the map on the Buffalo airport site and I can't exactly tell where I need to enter in order to make this possible - it looks like I need to drive down Genesee Street to the far end and then enter so I can use the Circulatory Road to the terminal entrance. I could enter earlier, but then I will drive the full length down and basically get to the same point, right? Any hints or advice to offer here? TIA!

I figure this way my wife and kids can leave their winter stuff (woo hoo!) in the car and I can do what I need to get myself out the cold and on to warmer temps (the forecast for next week is looking very good :cool1:)

I have done exactly what you are discussing many times. Its the best way to unload the family at the terminal and then just walk back yourself.

To drop everyone off, you will drive to the end of Gennessee like you mention, make the left, drive up to departures level of the terminal and let everyone out.
As you're pulling away, move over to the left and watch for the sign that says either "Luis Kahl Way." or parking, can't remember exactly, but it is the only left turn, and it curls back around and parallels Genessee st.
Depending on which lot you're parking in, you will take road this all the way back to where you first turned in off Genesse. Follow the signs for Long-Term A and park there.
You can take a shuttle or walk. I always walk as it is no more than a 10 minute walk even if you're parked at the back of the lot.

We just got back today from flying out of Buffalo. You can go to all that trouble of dropping them off and then waiting for you or you can save a little time and drop the family off at the covered bus stop, having them press the button in the shelter to signal the drivers and parking the car close by yourself. By the time you get the bags out of the car, the bus will be there. We just left our coats in the car and wore sweaters.

We've done this at Long Term Parking A several times and it's far easier than driving around the airport twice.

I don't know if the shuttle drivers do this all the time or not, but when we parked there this past summer, the bus pulled right up to our car and the driver got out and helped us load the bags and strollers from the trunk of the car right onto the bus! The driver had seen us circling around for a spot and then came straight for us when we parked!!! Now, he did have to circle around to pick someone up at the shelter because no one had spotted him coming into the lot to park. He apologized to the man waiting for not picking him up at his car and making him wait at the shelter! Talk about service!
