A different kind of shock at WDW

Just checking to see if anyone else has ever noticed this. On my family's last trip to Disney on Memorial Day weekend, my wife and I both had this same experience. When pushing our little girl around the MK in an umbrella stroller, we both kept getting little shocks in our hands. They were similar to static shocks. The first several times it happened to me, I was not worried too much. But, as it continued to happen I was not sure what was going on. Then, later in the day, my wife mentioned she had felt the same thing.

Anyone else had this happen to them and know what may cause it?

I haven't noticed it at WDW (we don't use a stroller) but I live in FL. Everytime I leave my car I get it. Maybe it has something to do with the high humidity.

I use an umbrella stroller too- I have gotten shocks when using my stroller- but rarely and never at wdw. I am a very electric person- (meaning I'm shock-prone) I always get really intense socks when I get out of my car or when I kiss my kids... But usually in the winter when the weather is dry-

I would first look at the stroller. Its doubtful that you were picking up any stray voltage from the infrastructure at WDW, especially since the strollers have rubber wheels.

But, it is possible that some parts of the stroller were rubbing each other and causing a static electricity charge to build up. Check that the wheels aren't rubbing on a nearby strut or other part of the stroller.

is it only was happening in the Magic Kingdom, no other park. If it had been happening to just me, I would have been a little more concerned. But, the same thing was happening to my wife. Who knows. May have just been an "electrical" trip to the MK.

Maybe some stray voltage from the old Electrical Parade? :p

I was at MGM Friday night and noticed the same thing. I've not felt it before but I bet I had 6-10 static shocks that evening. Could be the stroller rubbing, though, because it is making an odd sound. Or maybe I clipped a mouse....?
