A December to Remember w/TONS OF PICS!!!

You really look like you belong with that castle! :)

Your room decorations are very cute! What a nice trip you had!

I think I belong with that castle, too, but those darn Disney people want it to be for everyone! :rotfl:

It was a great trip. Wait till you read about the rest of it. It was so much fun.

We were there this past December too! (Earlier in the month though.) Loving your pics - can't wait to hear more!

Hi! Joining in a bit late...we were at POP 12/7-14, loved it and the parks all decorated for Christmas! Lucky you going for Christmas AND NYE!!:thumbsup2 Looking forward to hearing the rest! Great pics!!!!:goodvibes

I started my first installment. More to come! If we have a snow day over here, tomorrow, I'll add some more right away. :thumbsup2
I hope I can give you some great pointers. There is also last year's holiday trip report that I did, if you want to get a jump start on some of the things to expect. I'll do my best to share all that WDW has to offer. You'll have a great time. Have you chosen a resort and dates?

Thank you on the belated anniversary wishes! :goodvibes

I'll share about our Segway Tour next. A year ago, we tried out the segways in one of the Innoventions buildings in Epcot, and we loved them. When we found out you can do tours on segways, we knew we'd sign out for our next trip!

We signed up for the Around the World tour, at Epcot. Typically, a tour group would be about 10 people. For some reason, 8 people did not show up. So, we had two tour guides all to ourselves! It was great!!!

We began at the Innoventions building, where they showed us an informational video and then put us through a number of maneuvers to make sure we were ready, before going into the "World" for the tour. Once we were ready, we traveled on the segways through Future World towards Mexico, where the official tour would begin.

The tour is done entirely on the segways, with the tour guides sharing insider knowledge with us on the countries and we could ask questions, along the way. With only the two of us, it was like having Epcot all to ourselves, especially since we did the early morning tour.

Here's the ball, close-up, when we arrived that morning:

At certain locations, the tour guides allow picture taking, like here:

PC240138.jpg

Here are some of the pictures of "The World" as we went through them:

PC240141.jpg

We went in and out of buildings on the segways, too! It was a blast. Here are the two of us together:
PC240134.jpg

Since it was only two of us, we went through the tour more quickly than normal and were given the option to go through England or go the way we came. We chose England and then we went back towards Innoventions.

We've already decided that we want to do the segway tour at Fort Wildnerness. On that tour, they're segways are made for all-wheel drives, with wider bases and wider wheels. That should be cool!

I love your pictures...they make me feel as if I am really there and I love that you take the time to take pictures of all the little details :goodvibes I did the Segway tour at Epcot this past August and I was terrified...but I have terrible balance  How cool that is was just you and DH on the tour!

I love detailed pictures. I'm glad you're enjoying ours.

I can see how it might be terrifying if you have bad balance. :scared: With some of those tight corners and inclines, it could be difficult, unless your balance is decent. Having the tour to ourselves felt like we were getting some free wish! We also liked those neat pins they gave us for doing the tour where the little guy on the segway actually moves!!! Too cute.

The Segways seem so cool!! Can I ask if it's expensive? We're doing an all girls trip and exploring some tours for it in September. Any insight? My Mom has a bad back, could she do it?? Great pic of you guys together with the 'ball' between you!!:thumbsup2

They were cool!!! The tour was about $95. Here's one link about the tour:

My DH has a bad back and was fine on the tour. It's a smooth ride. Let me know if you guys decide to go on the tour. It books up quickly, so book it sooner rather than later. You don't want to get locked out. Also, if you do the first tour and you are staying on property, get a cab from the resort to Epcot. It's the quickest way.

The MK put on a great Christmas parade. When I saw it last year, it was night time. This time, we watched it in the day time, and I loved it even more! I'm going to show it to you, as I saw the parade come down the street.

Here's the starting float, introducing the parade:

Whew! That was a lot of pictures. If you wonder how we got so many great shots, we discovered the perfect picture location last year and have used it ever since. In case you couldn't pin-point where we were, we were across from the Sleepy Hollow Refreshments Stand, in front of the Christmas shop. It is an ideal location, if you get there in time for a spot. Unless we luck out along Main St., we will never watch a parade from anywhere else again. I hope you enjoyed!

More trip installments to come. . .

Your parade pictures are fantastic! I felt like I was watching the parade while I looked at them :goodvibes I will have to remember that spot for the next time I watch the parade at MK :thumbsup2

BEAUTIFUL...just BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for the info on the segways! I'll let you know if we decide to do it, but it really sounds great. :goodvibes

The parade pics were great. We saw it during MVMCP at night and it was neat to see the parade during the day. Thanks for sharing!!:)

It's the best spot ever and once you get your situated, stand firm. People are always trying to nudge in, since it's such a prime location. I'm glad you enjoyed the pics.

Definitely let me know about the segways. I just watched the movie "Mall Cop" and Kevin James' character rides one on his job. I loved it!

We enjoyed the parade during the day. Like you, we had seen at night at the MVMCP last year. It's amazing how different things can look.

We spent some time in DTD on our trip, but we didn't stick around for all the holiday stuff they have to offer. For example, we saw the area where you can get your picture taken with Santa, but left before he showed up. Also, we believe they do some sort of holiday entertainment down there, but we didn't check into it.

At any rate, when you arrived at DTD, I just had to pose with this holiday sest-up, which is technically there year round:

They also have a very cool Christmas tree, decorated with toys. Pretty cool looking. Here are the pics we took:

I still have tons to share about the parks and resorts. . .stay tuned. :goodvibes
