The husband of a dear friend was taken to the ER on Tuesday, thought was he might be having a stroke. No - it was not a stroke, the scan indicated he had a brain tumor. Her husband is 71.

The tumor was being operated on today, and in a scan prior to the surgery, they found spots on his liver, lungs and pancreas.

This friend is the sweetest person ever, and her husband has been her rock for the almost 50 years they've been married.

I called my friend yesterday, as we were finalizing a big "girl's day out" on Saturday, and my friend brought me up to speed on her husband.

I'm sure she is just lost right now, trying to deal with the events of today, as well as trying to figure out the next couple of tomorrows. My friend is hard to get ahold of (not a big cell phone user, no answering machine, no computer or e-mail). Actually, a big joke with her was - her husband "is" the answering machine.

If any of you are so inclined, my friends could use a prayer or two.Thanks.

Prayers and give her a big hug from my family, we know her pain.

I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's DH~ all of you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

How very sad. :sad1:
Sending prayers for your friend, her DH, and you, during these difficult days ahead. You sound like a good friend and she's really going to need a strong shoulder now.

My MIL had a brain tumor last summer, when she was 76. Everything went well and she went back to work in December (PT, 3 days a week).

I have said a prayer for your friend. I hope that he has the same outcome as my MIL and that the spots in his abdomen are easily cured.

So sorry to hear that news!

Like my father told my grandmother when grandpa passed away, "Anyone could be so lucky to be able to spend 50 years with their best friend. You are one of the lucky ones."

I am so sorry for your dear friend. I will say a prayer that God will give her strength during this bump in the road.

TC:cool1:

You sound like the kind of friend she truly needs now... prayers coming from Ga...

Prayers for your friend and her DH!

My folks were married 50 years...my dad died of prostate cancer one week after the anniversary. :(

Mom's BFF's DH just died 2 days ago from cancer...lesions on the brain but the root was melanoma. :(

Sending prayers and Grace, to your friend and her DH, May God keep her while she is going through:hug:

I believe in the power of prayer, and will keep your friends in mine.

My mother in law was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 59. They were able to operate, but could not remove it all. We were blessed to have her for 13 months, although it was very sad to watch a strong, healthy woman deteriorate so rapidly. It's been almost 16 years since she's been gone, and not a day goes by that I don't think of her.:sad1:

Hugs to your friends...my DH and I have walked this path!
