A DCL Platinum does a Celebrity Cruise

Question, What did you think of the beds in the virgin staterooms?
Very comfy, actually. We left them in "bed" configuration most of the trip and discovered the last day about the splitting into a couch/loveseat configuration. Wish we would have done that sooner, it was great. The stewards can change them back and forth each day.

Does Dreams give you obc with Celebrity too?
No, never used Harr but since Dreams pays for all this I think you should use their services. Plus I don’t see Harr giving you an OBC like Dreams does.

Another DCL platinum that has started to sail Celebrity…we just got off the Edge in a sky suite and absolutely loved it…this was our fourth Celebrity cruise…the retreat deck on the Edge is wonderful…plus all the perks you get…we are scheduled to be on the Maiden Voyage of the Wish but then have 4 more Celebrity cruises booked and no Disney…

We will be on the Maiden Voyage of the Wish as well! Would love to compare notes! We'll be on Crown Princess next month!

Sounds good…I’ve been thinking about trying Princess too...
We can talk in July! :)

Seriously though, I'd suggest a Royal Class Princess ship if you do that (Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Sky Princess, Enchanted Princess, Majestic Princess, Discovery Princess). Also, I'd ask you that I've heard similar about Celebrity (to try their Edge class ships)...

Those are the newer classes, yes, but don't discount Princess's Crown-class ships or Celebrity's Solstice-class ships. Plus the latter are usually cheaper for similar itineraries because people want the "new."

Our first cruise ever was on Dawn Princess. What a beautiful ship that was...

Just booked our first Celebrity cruise to Alaska this Sept. A comparable cruise on DCL was $1,000 higher, and it did not go all the way to Seward. We have been on 6 DCL trips and we are ready to move on.

Thanks for sharing all the info on this thread. Long time DCL family but I'm looking at booking a Celebrity itinerary in Europe for 2023 and wasn't sure if we'd be ok with or overwhelmed by such a large ship. Specifically looking at the Sky Suites on the Apex.

I’ve done both the Dream and the Fantasy and didn’t think the Apex seemed any bigger. We liked it so much we booked a 12 night British Isle for 2023.

Exactly. Size-wise the Edge-class ships are about the same size as Dream-class. BUT their passenger capacity is smaller - Dream-class is 4000, Edge-class is 2910.

That's good to know. We've been on the Dream once, but preferred the Magic class. But I'm ok with something the size of the Dream. Wow on the BI cruise! I saw those itineraries and they look really good. We are very inflexible with our dates this time around so it was a struggle to find the right itineraries at the right time but I found a couple that look great.

Oh, that really helps. Thanks. I watched a full ship walkthrough before I found this thread and it just looked a bit overwhelmingly large to me, but I guess it's really not. :)

ETA - I'd look at the Apex Baltic cruises but they are still showing it going to Russia, which I doubt will actually happen. I'd rather know where they plan to go before I book.

I was on the Edge just before everything shut down, and I absolutely LOVED her!! I'm not scheduled back on Celebrity until 2024, but I'm booked on the Apex then.

This thread has me considering the Celebrity Reflection for our med cruise in 2023. Quick question that seems like it shouldn't be so hard to find the answer to... Looking at the staterooms it's offering me for 4 people, they say they have a single sofa bed. How do 4 people sleep in these rooms?! Google has failed me. Haha

We're booked on Celebrity Beyond for Thanksgiving week. While I love the Disney ships, including their concierge, I can't wait to experience a new line for us. All the preview videos look great, and as mentioned above, it seems like you get a bit more with the "Retreat" suites vs Disney concierge.
