Hi everyone. This weeks update is a bit different. I will introduce our cast first:
Mother Cat(MC)- My fiance's mom
Father Cat(FC)- My fiance's Dad
Fiance(FDH)- My Fiance
ME- Your Weekly WDW Warrior
So there is the cast. MC and FC arrived in Tampa on Wednesday. I had to work but we spent the evening as a group at our apartment grilling up steaks. Thursday, everyone but me went to Celebration. They came home about 5pm to pick me up. We all went to Bob Evans on 192 and had dinner. From there we headed to Belz, in search of matching hats. We ended up buying 2 shirts though! No hats were found so off to World of Disney where I get a 10% discount with my PAP. We get into the store and go into shopping overload. MC and I are wandering around oohhhing and aaahhing over everything. Finally FDH and FC track us down and we look at hats. FC and FDH pick up matching straw hats. Look like cowboy hats but made of straw. MC picks up a Mickey hat, plaid top and suede brim. I also had a Mickey hat. I had a hard time finding the right hat as I was planning on wearing this hat on every Disney trip. I finally decided on a Mickey hat in an Olive color. We get to the counter and start paying. I walk away and what do I find....You guessed it...the Perfect hat!! Its all black, soft brushed cotton. In red it say Walt Disney World and has the Sorcerer Mickey hat on it. I love it. Stand in line and make the exchange. Seventy dollars lighter we look in the X-mas store and then stop at McDonalds for sodas and we head for home.
Friday rolls around. I had taken the day off from work and was up at 9am!! We were out the door by 10. We hit the gates of EPCOT a little after 11. We entered through International Gateway. Ok, I am heading for flames here but I didn't pay for parking. We had expected to leave through the Boardwalk so this is where we parked. Anyway we get in and head toward UK. We keep going as nothing is going on. We stop at Canada and watch the show. Wow! This needs to be updated. The date was 1981!! We head toward Imagination building and walk on the HISTA. MC and FC LOVED it. Next stop was Journey into your Imagination. YUCK!!! Hate it. We got our picture taken.(Side Note:I had the picture sent home but I never got it
)Next we went over to The Land. 60 min wait for Living with the Land! We picked up FP with a 2:20 return time. We decided to go eat so off to the Electric Umbrella. We still had time to kill so we went on Spaceship Earth. Always a favorite. We still had a good 20 mins until FP was up so we took them into Ice Station Cool. AHHH...getting unsuspecting people with Beverly. Got both of them FDH and I good in a good laugh. We headed out and walked by the line and got right on Living with the Land. FDH and I decided we are going to take the Behind the scenes tour someday. We exit the Land and got check out Test Track. WOW 45mins! FP are return of 9:20!! And its only 2:40. We pick them up anyway and push on. We take the boat ride in Mexico and look around a bit. Then onto Norway. We ride the Malestrom. Why FP? There was no wait at all. Next was China. Once again we watched the movie. Once again..dated..Update please! From there we continued our journey stopping in each country. We finally made it to France and walked into the show. I LOVE the music from this. Trying to get it on MP3! As we exited we caught a little bit of the Living Statue. She was great! We actually got to see her open her eyes!! She waved goodbye and we continued on. We heard British Invasion in the background so we went and checked them out. By now it was close to 6pm. Tapastry was due to start at 6:30. So we slowly walked toward Mexico and found a spot right between China and Norway, with our backs facing China, so we were looking at the lagoon. We sat down and waited. Now keep in mind we were sitting behind the tape and foot traffic is walking in front of you. We figured that would stop once the parade started. Boy were we ever wrong. My FDH and FC Loved this parade, as did I. MC was a little disappointed as she chose to sit further back and I think missed alot. It would have been perfect except for the people. People kept stopping and we missed ALOT of puppet interaction. Oh well, lessened learned. FDH and I will see this again, definatly, just on the other side. It is now just about 7pm and unknowingly to us, we head to the Living Seas to find it closed! It was on the map just to small to read. Disappointed we decide to go to Wilderness Lodge for dinner. As we were heading out, we were stopped by a researcher. I ALWAYS give my opinion. I love those guys and I am disappointed when I don't get picked. I explained my Tapastry problem and off we go. Monorail is standing room only but MC manages a seat. We get to TTC and head for the resort monorail. It pulls up and is very full. The driver only opens about half the doors. All the doors that were open were full. I go to the driver and ask if he could open more doors so we could sit down and he VERY RUDELY saysJust Get on the train.
I am TICKED!!! I get on vowing to report him. We manage to get a seat when people exit at POLY. We ride it to CR and exit but I am calmed now and we just head for the docks. Catch the next boat to Wilderness Lodge. While on the boat a funny thing comes to me...Why didn't we just get a bus from EPCOT?? Oh well. We eat at Roaring Fork and check the resort out a bit. We hit the bus and ride to MGM. We then take the boat to Swan and walk to Boardwalk and get in the car and drive home. We never did make Test Track or Illuminations. Oh well. We had fun.
Saturday was supposed to be a waterpark day but that didn't happen. Went to a movie and hung around Orlando. Not much else. FC and MC flew back to NJ Sunday morning.
Well thats it. I am off work on Wed July 4th so we may go to PI on the 3rd as they are doing a fireworks thing then. Will give a report. And expect the return of our normal report next week!!
