A Daily Dose of Disney Drama! 5/02/13 PG 53 THE END

I'll take one of those empty chairs, thank you very much!

I love that area! So beautiful!

We ate at Backlot Express last time. I'm not really into old stuff (hate antique stores) and did not enjoy eating in there at all. It just felt a bit dirty to me.

I'm not a fan of DHS counter service so I don't think I'd want to eat there either but it was fun to look around.

Happy to hear about other Disney guests spreading the pixie dust. :wizard:

They seemed like wonderful people!

Drama coming - hope it's the happy kind!

I'm afraid its not happy in the least :worried:

That is a lovely story and so very generous of that family to give a total stranger a gift card. Very sweet, in deed.

Love HBD. Had a really nice dinner there in October.

More pretty pictures of the YC. I know what you mean about a nap. I have to be totally exhausted to nap during the day.

Yes it was very sweet!

I'll look forward to hearing about it!

Me too!

She celebrated for several days and had a lot of fun! :)

Several days? Just how long were you in labor????

but Dale really likes HBD and since we were celebrating his birthday I went along with his choice.

That's my rule too. Birthday boy gets to pick.

It doesn't necessarily apply to others.

Dale started with the Potato Leek Soup

Nice hidden Mickey!

Anyway, it was very apparent how much it meant to the parents that these strangers cared about whatever they had been through. The other couple then said "please take this and buy your daughter something from us" and handed them a Disney gift card. The parents were both crying and Dale and I were misty too! Quite often at Disney we see the worst in people so it was just beautiful and reaffirming to see the best in people!

That's really nice.

While he toured the galaxy, I watched the end of the Jedi show.

It's nice that you allow your husband to leave the planet on his own once in a while.

When the show ended I wandered over to the Backlot Express counter service restaurant. I had never been in there before but I had recently read a Blog about how awesome their theming is so I decided this was a great time to check it out.

You know, I'd heard such poor reviews of the food... but never anything about the decor. I don't think it ever would've occurred to me to go in there. Thanks for those pics. :thumbsup2

That looks like it might be the ultrlight from Fly Away Home.

When we got back to the resort we checked out the beachfront movie schedule.

Just a tip-if you have kids, you must sometime take them to one of the movies on the beach! They have a campfire, roast marshmallows, sing songs and then a movie. So fun and free :thumbsup2

We were at ASMu last time and they had the outdoor movies there too. But we never had a chance to do it. Too busy in the parks!

I think I will save our Epcot adventures for next time. Remember how my first day drama was forgetting my hairbrush? I know, not all that dramatic right? Well trust me, in the next update the drama is getting very DRAMATIC! Be prepared!

Uh, oh... But thanks for this chapter! :goodvibes

oh, yeah. almost forgot. there is no hidden mickey in the soup. How long did you look for it? :rolleyes1

Oh goodness what a nightmare that would be! I was pretty lucky, I was induced at 7am and she arrived just before noon.

:lmao:

Nice hidden Mickey!

:confused3

That's really nice.
I thought so :)

That's how we've lasted 28 years :rotfl:

I am the same way! I really am unfamiliar with the cs places at DHS because I've always heard bad things!

I thought it looked familiar but couldn't place it.

There aren't enough hours in the day when you're at Disney!

Uh, oh... But thanks for this chapter! :goodvibes
You're welcome :)

Shame on you!

Great photos of Back Lot Express... I don't think I've honestly ever been there...:confused3

Wow the CM at TSM must have been pretty unpleasant...:sad2: That is really unfortunate... there is no excuse for rude/unpleasant behavior...

It does make you you feel good that the other family followed and acted so kindly... Makes me want to go out of my way for someone just hearing it...:goodvibes

Sorry that you missed Via Napoli...but it is good to give the B-Day boy his choice...:thumbsup2

Thanks. If I hadn't read that blog I probably would never had stopped in there and taken a look around. Sometimes its fun to slow down and check out the theming Disney puts so much effort into :)

We were really curious about what happened but the important thing was the kindness the other family disaplayed

He is always great about letting Caitlin and I decide everything about our trips so I kind of owed it to him :)

Great pics at the Backlot Express! I've never been and hope to try it sometime. I've also never seen the end of the Indiana Jones show. It started raining in the middle of it and they had to stop the show. It would be neat to see from the restaurant!

Hi Dawn! Finally here and caught up!

How FUN that you splurged for Club Level! Was this your first experience with it? What did you think overall? We are doing it in February (at AKV), and I'm really excited to try it! I think having breakfast just down the hall like that will be the best.

Uh oh on the drama...:scared:

Thank you :)
Aww I'm sorry you missed the end!
You couldn't really see it from the restaurant although you could hear it. In my wanderings I came across a chain link fence that I watched it through. Kind of stalkerish I suppose :rotfl:

Yes this was our first time trying CL. We loved it! The lounge was wonderful and saved us so much money on food. We aren't people who do 3 big meals a day so by staying CL we could do breakfast in the lounge, eat a big lunch and then use the CL evening offerings as a light dinner. It was perfect! I hope you love it!

So apparently my subscription had "none" for updates...I was wondering why you weren't posting! :scratchin I got that fixed and I am all caught up now!

I am all about rope drop and Dale sounds like my DH! I was getting frustrated reading along! :rotfl: That guy on the boat...oh please! I can't stand when someone gets into my personal space but then to mention something needs to be corrected/fixed/etc...ugh!!! Yes, that served Dale right for dragging his feet!! :lmao:

Way too many things for me to mention since I was so far behind so I will just say I really enjoyed those updates!!

Dale is usually really good about getting moving in the morning but that darn Club Lounge just relaxed him too much :rotfl:
That guy was something else!

So, It looks like I'm getting close (3 weeks) to booking some ADRs for June. Any word yet on when you guys might be going? Inquiring minds want to know. :rotfl:

I wish I knew! Andrew is supposed to get leave the last 2 weeks in June so it should be sometime around then. However, Caitlin is applying for jobs with Americorp and might have training at that time so everything is up in the air. Do let me know your dates and if it is at all possible we will try and get there before you leave! :)

We are there 6/8 - 6/15. Ugh if we just miss each other again. I'll be so sad. I was hoping Dale and I could see who could chug a jalapeno margarita faster. :rotfl: Kidding - now what fun would that be? Those things are so great its vital to savor every last drop! :rotfl2:

Americorp? Good for her! That's awesome. She is quite the girl. You must be so proud! :goodvibes

What a fantastic moment you *eaves dropped* on. Moments like that think there is hope for the human race! lol

I may have to check out the movies on the beach with my nephew when we're there in April. We're staying at Pop Century and I think they have movies too. However, I think I'd like them on the beach. I'm assuming that's okay even though we're not staying there, we are staying within the Disney Resorts.

Dale would love to have a margarita with you :)
Yes she is thinking of appplying with "Teach For America" or a program they have where they help vets reassimilate back into society. She hopes to do something in Louisiana that will allow her to serve and give back and yes I am!
