Hi all :wizard:

DH and I are taking the kids to WDW for a little over a week in July. My sis offered to help us shave a couple bucks off of the kids tickets using her FL discount. The kids tickets still just say CHILD on them, right? We have an unused Park Hopper from 2006 from DS but we got rained out. So if she is able to get the kids their tickets, that is one thing small money saver.

Also, we're planning on getting 7 day base tickets for us all. Now, in a perfect world, we won't get rained out any of those 7 days and the kids will be perfect angels the entire time  However, if for some reason we do not get to use all 7 days, can we purchase the Non-Expiration AFTER the original ticket purchase? For example, we use 5 days and have 2 days left, can we pay for the non-expiration on those 2 days only?

I think that about covers it :) TIA!

Just came home today and my dad had 3 days left on a six day ticket. I had to pay the expiration on the 6 days. It was 80 something dollars. Hope this helps.

Thank you :) I guess I may as well pay that up front if the need arose. The 7 day ticket prices have a good price on them so that's why I'm aiming for them.

You can always upgrade a ticket to Non-Expiration after using it - if you do it before the 14 day expire mark. The charge will be on the original ticket length, not on the days left on the ticket - so think about that carefully.

As far as the Florida child ticket thing - I don't know what the tickets say - but prepare to be flamed. :scared1:

This is kind of a grey area. According to the rules, FL resident tickets are for FL residents only, and this includes kids of course. For adult tickets Disney will check the ID's of everyone using FL resident tickets to verify that they are residents. However, for kid's tickets they'll only check the ID of the adult that purchases the tickets. So, your sister can purchase FL resident tickets for your kids, however, technically they really shouldn't use them. It's up to you whether you find this OK or not.

You can upgrade tickets within 14 days of their first use, including purchasing the non expiration option. However, adding the non expiration option would be based on the all of the days on the ticket (used and unused), so no matter how many days are used and how many are available you would pay for the non expiration option on a 7 day ticket.

That said, note that the difference between a 5 day ticket and a 7 day ticket is only $6 (plus tax) so even if you don't go all 7 days and let those last two days go to waste you're not really not wasting much money. Alternately, if your tickets haven't been purchased yet you could just get 5 day tickets to begin with. If you need a 6th day you can add it for $3 (plus tax) and if you need a 7th day then you can add that one for $3 (plus tax). That way you won't pay for any days you don't need and you won't have to worry about the expensive non expiration option.

Also, note that if you do let your sister purchase FL resident tickets for your kids and you want to upgrade them to add days or the non expiration option then you'll need your sister to do it as they will need to see a FL ID each time those tickets are modified.

Got it :) My mom had done this previously for DS as a gift back in 2006 (the FL resident ticket) so we (DH and I) bought tickets to match his gift from grandma so we could go as a family.

Good point in regards to the upgrade not being much. So far Undercover Tourist has the better prices so I didn't know what the upgrade costs would be (plus tax) at the resort itself. :) Thank you for all of your answers :)
