One week and counting!! :bounce: I am sooooo excited :)

Two quick questions...we are wanting to get a good family shot for our Christmas cards. Suggestions? We were thinking about with the characters at perhaps the ice cream social. Are they 'decked out' for Christmas? Any other suggestions of good "Disney Christmas" shots?

Next...we have one evening when MK closes at 6pm...and I was thinking a nice sit down dinner somewhere (I have considered Boma b/c we are staying at AKL...and perhaps a CM at Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare to see those resorts all Christmas'ed up. Thoughts?

Thanks :D

If you choose Chef Mickey's...you might want to arrange a later PS for dinner. I believe that a lot of people might eat at CM's prior to the MVMCP...
I would recommend Boma...but that's just me....and I can't wait to eat there!!!

Hello,

I would go with Boma also. It's become our favorite restaurant on property since it's opened. Chef Mickeys can be fun, but also very hectic and noisy, plus the food is nowhere near as good as at Boma.

Regarding a good Christmas picture, there are so many to choose from. Most of the resorts have great trees set up, that make a nice backdrop, although it's doubtful you'll be able to get the entire tree into a picture with people. Main St, USA, with the tree behind you, and you facing the castle is a good choice. At Epcot, the archway from FW into WS is a good choice. At MGM, there are some good spots along the Osborne's display you can snap a picture, but sometimes it tough to get a break in the crowds to get the picture of your group.

Hope that helps,

take care,

Bill ( who will be chowing down at Boma next Sunday night!!)

As for a good Christmas card photo, you can't beat the castle in the background!

I was thinking of that shot. Do you just 'grab' someone to take it...or are there Disney folks around to snap one for you? I know...I have to be spoon fed ;)

I don't know how I would pull this off without all the help on these boards!! :)

We had the Pooh and Friends Dinner buffett at 1900 last week. Food was very good, (great variety) characters made the rounds a few times. Plus, the Grand Floridian is gorgeously decked out for the Holidays. And the band was playing Disney songs on the second level of the lobby. It was wonderful. I cold have sat there all night...'cept I have these kids, you know...LOL!!

Try the strawberry soup and bread pudding! Yummmmmm....

I would recommend Boma for dinner! It's my favorite. We had the most amazing, and special meal there the first night of our honeymoon.

As for Christmas card pic...the Castle shot is perfect. Usually there are photographers to take pictures to buy. If you don't want to go that route...you can always stop a CM to take the pic for you.

The archway at Epcot is gorgous too!

And they have the most amazing tree in the lobby of GF!!!

For the perfect Christmas camera shot, I would try the Camera Center at MagicKingdom. They do a Green Screen photo with literally hundreds of background options. I'm sure you'll find a Christmas Theme with the characters that fits perfectly. This way the castle is lit up perfectly and there are no crowds of people behind you and the sky is exactly right!

Hope this helps!!

Thanks clkelley! How does that work? What is the charge? What do you get...one photo? We need like 75 copies for Christmas cards :D We could make copies if we need to...don't mind paying for them...unless it is outrageous. Thanks again...

I think an 8x10, 5x7, and 4 wallets was something like $33, but if you have a good scanner, you could make your Christmas Cards from the print. They have many packages. I'm sure you'll find one you like.
