A couple questions

I am very new at this and I can't wait to make a couple t-shirts for our trip in September, but I am kind of nervous about how to go about it all. So, I have a few questions.

1. Which brand t-shirt (hanes, fruit of the loom, jerzees, avil, etc.) do you recommend? (I have been searching online at places and can't decide which brand would be best and wanted to know which brand most of you have had better results with.)

2. What brand iron-on transfers do you recommend? I have a HP and a canon inkjet printers.

3. I am planning to have everyone have a light grey shirt with a red Mickey or Minnie name badge on the front. (I have gotten the blanks and personlized them myself. I just haven't decided to make them small in the left corner of the shirt or larger in the middle.) Then on the back will be a stick family design that Lisabelll so kindly made for me. So, how do you think that would look?

4. Also, I got some spaghetti strap plain hot pink t-shirts for 4 of my girls at target the other day (only $1.98!!) and would like to do something for our day in Epcot with them. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much in advance for all your help! :)

I can answer some of your questions based on my first attempt at making t-shirts for our upcoming trip!

I bought Gildan 6.1oz t-shirts from Jiffy Shirts and really like them. They didn't shrink a lot after the first wash and had a ton of colors to pick from!

I used both HP transfers and Avery transfers. I think if I had to pick, I would say that I liked the Avery better.

I love your grey shirt idea and think it will look great!

I can't help you with an EPCOT design other than to say to just search these boards! So much talent from so many wonderful disigners! :worship:

I would choose Avery also. Just make sure to use the dark transfer kind. The light don't work well on anything but white shirts.

So, when I get the dark transfers, I have to trim them around the design right? (Both designs seem fairly easy to do that. ;) )

Does anyone know what stores sell the Avery transfer paper? I was at my local walmart and target and didn't see any transfer paper at all. Or is there a better place to order it online?

Yes, you trim around the designs. I bought the Avery transfers at Walmart. They were with the school supplies. Also bought some in Target, I think they were on the scrapbook aisle. I saw them at Staples as well. I never bought them online so I can't help you there.
