I didn't mean you were out there digging in the dirt, but I did assume that by starting with a fresh slate you know what's supposed to be there and can recognize it if something that doesn't belong there crops up! Ahhh yes, you are right on that one. And yep, it is nice to have started from scratch. Our first home was a PITA as far as landscaping, for the very reason you mentioned. We inherited another person's mess and spent literally the first couple years ripping things out and replacing them.
