I have an on going search with RCI for any DVC 2-bed for March 5,2011 thru end of April 2011. We are flexible about the dates. We started searching about I didn't realize how early I needed to start searching so I am super worried I won't get one.

1. Is it too late? Do I need to widen my search for other non-Disney resorts?
2. Has anyone gotten a DVC thru RCI this late in the game?
3. I noticed from reading posts that SSR seems to be "easier" to get into. Why is that?
4. I see there is a $95 fee due to Disney. Is that fee due to Disney upon check-in or before?

Thanks for your help

It is not too late, but it is getting close. Roughly speaking, there are two "waves" of deposits. One at about 10-11 months prior to use, and another at 6-7 months. So, right now the second wave is late February to late March. If you don't get a match by late October or mid November, it would be time to broaden your search to other properties. As for SSR---it (and OKW) have more inventory. There is also some evidence that SSR had lower trade power requirements than the others as of this past spring, but I think that changed about 2-3 months ago and they are all more or less comparable again. The $95 is payable on check in.

One potential sticking point: you may not have the requisite trade power to complete the exchange. If you do, I think your chances are good---you have an eight or nine week window, and you'll accept any DVC resort. That flexibility will help. But, it's hard to know what's happening for sure without some help. I'd encourage you to join TUG (www.tug2.net) or Timeshare Forums (www.timeshareforums.com) where folks keep track of what gets deposited when. If several 2BR during your time frame are seen by someone else, but you don't match to them you should start looking at alternative properties right away.

I just looked at this time frame this past weekend and had the choice of several options. It looks like more of the DVC deposits may be going to the points side but still a fair amount to the weeks side as well. I agree with Brian that you may have a trade power issue. OKW & SSR will be the most likely to match but you should list them all.
