The last time I went to DLR was in 1970 and I was just a young teen. My daughter and I will be there in 2 weeks for a mother/daughter trip...her first time! :woohoo: I have a couple of questions that I haven't been able to find here on the boards: 1) When you shop, can purchases be sent to the front of the parks, and if so, how does it work? 2) We'll be staying at a Harbor hotel. Is there a local pizza joint that you would recommend delivering to our room? Would like to stay away from a chain, if possible. Thanks!

I can't help with the pizza, but I do know something about packages. The last time I was there you could not send packages to a holding place. There were stores, however, that would hold your packages for the day; the Emporium on Main Street did that for a friend of mine. The Disneyland web site says "Select locations will hold your purchases," so you'll have to ask around.

There are also decent sized lockers in the front of the park; you could make a trip or two there to store purchases.

Only people staying at the Disney hotels can have packages delivered to their hotels.

Hope that helps a little! Have a great time :smickey:

Package Check Service

There is no need to save your shopping until the end of the day when the Disneyland shops will be crowded with visitors looking for last minute souvenirs. Both parks offer 'Package Check Service' where you can check your purchases and pick them up at the end of the day.

In the Disneyland Park, this service is offered at the Newsstand, Premier Shop and Pioneer Mercantile. In Disney California Adventure, check with a Cast Member as the location may change due to construction. Guests staying at one of the three Disneyland Hotels can check their packages and request delivery to their hotel. (These packages will be delivered after 7:00am the following day.)

Hope it helps :) Have a great time!

ps: Yellow pages for pizza hehe :)

Thanks for the info about package checking. LOL...I know about Yellow Pages for the pizza. Just wanting to know if there was a local favorite that wasn't a chain.

Last weekend, they also said that the Nightmare shop in New Orleans Square will hold packages.

~~ I love you Phil and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~

Regarding Pizza, I have not actually tried anything local, only chain; Dominos and CPK.
I especially like CPK, there is one located at Anaheim Garden Walk in Garden Grove, which is right next door to Anaheim. And depending upon your hotel location, might just be within walking distance. I stayed at Travelodge on South Harbor Blvd. last year, and AGW is essentially on the other side of it, I loved that I was within walking distance to CPK and right next door at the same location is the Cheesecake Factory, which I highly recommend their Lady Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake, it is to die for! Oh and for a pizza recommendation at CPK that would be pepperoni with pineapple, I just love it.

I hope you and your daughter have a fantabulous time at the land. :)

The fam and I where there in May, stayed on Harbor, and ordered pizza from the little stand at the Ramada Inn Main Gate (near the intersection of Harbor and Disney Way.) Good pizza, decent price and not a chain.

Also, the hotels in the area often have coupons for local eateries so ask at some point and maybe you can save a buck or two while accomplishing your mission ...and, have a great time.
