i have been to disney world many times, but there are somethings i cant remember and just wanna ask.
1. Are you allowed to bring your own snacks into the parks? Ex. nuts(individually packaged), peanut butter crackers, etc.?
cant remember for sure

2. just anyone have any advice to make my friends' 1st trips even better? i know pretty much everything (lol), but it never hurts to ask. i know to make sure they see the parades and fireworks. the thing is is that we are only there for 3 days. any advice? :confused3

3. we are going to universal studios for a day. anything i should make sure to do? never been there before, and i really want to spend a ton of time in harry potterland. lol

so can anyone help? thanks in advance :thumbsup2

1. I believe you can, but i'm not entirely sure. I know you can bring in your own drinks though.

2. Fastpasses? Also, remember that you don't have to stick to the timeslot. You can't go before the time, but you can anytime after the allotted slot.

3. I haven't been to Universal in years, but you shouldn't get your hopes up on getting into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You'll be able to ride Dragon's Challenge, but the whole queue is covered so you can't see anything around you. Universal just announced that the grand opening (when all the press and celebrities come) is June 18th, and I won't expect soft openings to start until possibly late April at the earliest.

1.we were able to before i just wanted to make sure

2. yeah fastpasses are a MUST especially for soarin, peter pan, toy story mania, etc.

3. well darn. thanks for the info though

if you two are roller coster fans you have to do rip ride rockit!!!!!!!! i rode it two weeks ago, the park was only opened half-an hour and the line was already at 45 mins!!!! so u defiantly want to race to that!!!!

2. Don't be a know it all, lead them around the parks, but if they are convinced that you need to go another way to get somewhere follow them. And when they are wrong, don't be an I told you so.

Also, don't assume that they want to do certain things, always ask them what THEY want to do. It is their first time, and they want to have a good time.

Quite often you need to humor the newbies, just don't get frustrated.

1. Yes. The only thing you cannot bring into the park is somthing in a glass bottle, or alcohol. You cannot bring in a hard cooler, it has to be in a soft lunchbox or another kind of bag, but no hard coolers.

2. If its someone's first trip, I would (and have) focused more on rides than parades. But I'm not a parade person at all.

3. Harry Potter isn't open yet.

::yes::
I agree. Being an 'I told you so' could easily ruin the trip.
And try not to rush around. Really appreciate everything in disney, because some of the cool stuff is so subtle it's easy to miss.

Are you DEFINATELY going to Universal Studios?

If you're just going to the property, I prefer Islands of Adventure to Universal Orlando. IoA has more theming, better thrill rides, etc. Wizarding World of Harry Potter isn't open yet, but The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman is easily the best ride I've ever been on. The Incredible Hulk rollercoaster is also very good, as are many of the rides/shows at IoA.

If you're just going to Universal Orlando (the Studios), definately check out Revenge of the Mummy (it's incredible).

1. Yes, I am pretty sure that you can.
2. I would try to get to the parks close to opening. It is the least crowded part of the day, so you can get more things done that way. There is ALOT you can do in a 2-3 day period. IMO, i would def. go to the MK one day. Tip: if a ride line ever splits to a right and left side, pick the left! Most ppl are right handed, so they will go to the right side. Hope this helps.:thumbsup2

thanks guys. trust me, i am not the know it all or i told you so type of person. i've taken many 1st timers b4, but they weren't my age. They had the best first trip ever, and that is what i have promised to my friends. once again thanks for the help and if you can, i wuld like more advice on universal studios and island of adventure since i've never been there. =D thanks like a WHOLE bunch! :thumbsup2

because of the HP expansion there is a whole lot of stuf closed in IoA, so if you could only do one park i would pick univeral studios.

1. Yah, you can. My family has done that a few times before.
2.Well, I only go with my family, but ask them what they want to do. Plan ahead, Fastpasses are God, and it's not all about the rides, try to catch things in between.
3. I haven't been since I was five, but my friends love to go on the thrill rides.

1. Yes, you can.

2. Let them do what they want. Even if you don't really like the ride. Even if the wait is long and there's no more FastPasses.

3. I've never veen to US, so I'm not sure. But, I don't think Harry Potter is open...

If you only have a 1 day ticket, I'd definitely say to check out Universal Studios rather than IOA. IOA is lots of thrills and lots of water rides. It's fun, but you can normally finish it pretty quickly.

You need to check out the Horror Make-Up Show. :) It's hilarious. If you go on a Thurs, Fri or a Saturday, definitely go to it. One of my favorites works on those days and the show is a lot better when he's there. :)

Pretty much all the rides are lots of fun, so try to do as much as you can and you'll have a great time. :)

Have a good time! The weather has been beautiful lately.

That's not true. Nothing is currently closed at IOA. Dueling Dragons was closed for a bit, but opened about a week ago. Other rides were down for quick refurbs but as of right now, everything is operating (except for Harry Potter, but that won't even be having soft openings until at least May).

give them your opinions on stuff and let them know what you like but give them the option to choose where they want to go since you have been there many times. make sure you get everything in the he/she wanted to do and you like the tower of terror. be sure to look at your friends face when it looks like this:scared1: lol

i deffinetly agree with that. my friend's been to wdw but last summer was her first time to disneyland.

her cousin wouldnt let her pick any of the rides or anything so she missed a lot of her favorites. She still says what a waste she feels the trip was.

So offer SUGGESTIONS, but never force anyone to do anything. Also never act like you're above other people because you've been before and they havnt.

Just relax, and it'll be a super enjoyable trip for everybody!!! have fun!!!:rotfl:
