Ok so after going to WDW loads of time my dad said we could go to DL instead if I wanted, i've looked on the website and it looks pretty awesome, anyway I have some questions...Thanks ;)

1. How does the Indiana Jones ride compare to Dinosaur at the Animal Kingdom in WDW? (I heard it's exactly the same track?)

2. How are crowds around the 23rd Oct to the 1st nov and do they do anything special for halloween?

3. What are the must see's at DCA and DL?

4. Is two days at each park enough time to do everything?

5. How is Universal studios and Knott's Berry farm and do they do anything special for halloween?

Thanks

Can't help with the Knott's Berry or Universal part. But We soooo prefer Indy to Dinsosaur. 4 days total is a good amount of time. You can easily park hop between the parks. Don't plan on a whole 2 days at DCA. It opens later than DL and closes sooner. So head back over to DL when it closes.
Take the time to enjoy the differences between WDW and DL. Peter Pan, Pirates, IASWand Space are so much better than WDW. Toontown blows away WDW. They do have a Halloween party and additional tickets are required. They do sell out fast. DCA might be a good place to be for the nights that you do not have tickets. Have fun!

I'm pretty sure Knott's does a Halloween scary theme thing. You could probably google it and find out. It also has bigger coasters and less theming. IMO.

:welcome: to the DIS!

1. How does the Indiana Jones ride compare to Dinosaur at the Animal Kingdom in WDW? (I heard it's exactly the same track?)

It might be the same track, but the experience is so different that it's kind of hard to tell. In IJ there's fire, you go down steps, over a bridge, etc. It's a great attraction.

2. How are crowds around the 23rd Oct to the 1st nov and do they do anything special for halloween?

The resort is beautiful at this time of year with harvest colors. The weekends will be pretty crowded, but the weekdays should have lighter crowds. The Haunted Mansion is transformed into the "Nightmare Before Christmas, so I would recommend seeing the movie before going. There are a lot of Jack Skellington & other stuff from the movie t-shirts, hats, etc. California Adventure has Disney themed nights that have a different ticket.

3. What are the must see's at DCA and DL?

Check the FAQ stickie thread at the top of the board for links to threads about stuff to do at Disneyland. Especially look at Hydroguy's tips. He put a lot of good info together.

4. Is two days at each park enough time to do everything?
Not in my opinion, however, if that is all you have you can see a great deal. Just choose the must dos, and nice to dos, with the left-over stuff if there's time to dos, and you'll be able to see and do more of the things that interest you.

5. How is Universal studios and Knott's Berry farm and do they do anything special for halloween?

They're both good. Knotts Berry Farm has Knotts Scary Farm, and they do an EXCELLENT job with haunted houses and other stuff for the older crowd (I wouldn't take kids under 12), and it is a lot of fun.

Thanks

Yes, Knott's does special events for Halloween, casuing an additional park entrance fee and shorter normal operating hours for regular days.....check their schedule and make sure you are getting what you expect if you go. We went one year and many of the areas were closed or tarped off for the even that evening, making the park seem under construction......

1. How does the Indiana Jones ride compare to Dinosaur at the Animal Kingdom in WDW? (I heard it's exactly the same track?)

I haven't been on Dinosaur since they changed the name from Countdown to Extinction! But from what I can remember, Dinosaur seemed more in your face w/ the animatronics while Indy isn't so much. I also remember Dinosaur being super loud, but that was probably bc I was really young. I think you'll like Indy anyways since the theme is different from Dinosaur.

2. How are crowds around the 23rd Oct to the 1st nov and do they do anything special for halloween?

The crowds are average during the weekends and the weekdays can be somewhat empty. And yes, DLR has Halloweentime! Main Street is decked out w/ Halloween decor (I'm not sure if they're having a Haunted Mansion Holiday this year) and DCA has their Candy Corn Acres in the Sunshine Plaza. There are lots of Halloween inspired treats in the bakeries and restaurants also. DCA also has a special event called Mickey's Trick or Treat Party where you have to buy extra tix for since the park is closed just for the event. It starts in the evenings and you go to different stations to get candy or other "healthier" options. They also have crafts and dancing too.

3. What are the must see's at DCA and DL?

DCA: Soarin' Over California, California Screamin', TSMM, Mulholland Madness, and the Play Parade. I think WDW's ToT is much better and Grizzly River Run is basically like Kali if you've been on those. You might also want to check out the Blue Sky Cellar to see what new things they'll be adding to the park.

DL: Indy, Space & BTM (don't remember how WDW's compares), POTC, IASW, Matterhorn, and Billy Hill and the Hillbillies.

4. Is two days at each park enough time to do everything?

I'd personally say that 2 days for both parks isn't enough to see every single thing, but if you only want to do certain things and not other, then you should do fine.

5. How is Universal studios and Knott's Berry farm and do they do anything special for halloween?

Universal has Halloween Horror Nights and Knott's has Halloween Haunt. From what I've heard, Knott's is scarier, depending if you like to get spooked or not. I'm not sure how Universal's is, but at Knott's they have different mazes that you can go into, some are 3D, where you can get scared, and some rides are also transformed where there'll be blood and have ppl pop out and scare you. HTH!

2 days at DCA is WAYYYYY more than enough. I can usually blow out DCA in half a day. 4 days for both parks is good though. Yes they do Halloween at Disneyland, and at Knotts. Knotts is owned by Cedar Fair (which owns my local park Great America) and they do a great Halloween haunt, and I think it;s the same. Not for little kids. I have a 5 year old and it would freak him out. My 10 year old did fine. Read Hydroguys tips for Disneyland for WDW vets to get some excellent tips.

Indiana Jones is nearly identicle cars to Dinosaur. Indiana I think is much faster so ride maybe shorter.

Knotts is king of the theme park Holloween nights. They've been doing it longer than anyone. It's teen and adult oriented, not kids. It's a lot of fun but very very popular so large crowds can occur. These nights are seperate admission (park closes early for these special ticketed events, similar to WDW's special nights at MK).

Universal Studios is considerably better than Floridas version mainly because of the tram tour through real, live working studio sets dating back decades. They do some special Holloween events but I have never been to them.

Magic Mountain Six Flags also has Holloween nights but I believe they are included with a days admission. There are several haunted houses and the entire park is themed complete with red fountains.

4 days at DLR is the perfect time to see it all, but go to each park everyday.

In terms of rides, don't forget that even "identical" rides can be very different between DL and WDW. Pirates of the Caribbean at DL is so ridiculously better, its not even funny. At the same time, Peter Pan at Disneyland is significantly lacking compared to the superior WDW version.

Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and the Tiki Room are all different rides than in Florida.

Star Tours (obviously), Thunder Mountain and the Haunted Mansion are substantially similar in both parks.

Universal Studios is considerably better than Floridas version mainly because of the tram tour through real, live working studio sets dating back decades. They do some special Holloween events but I have never been to them.

I have to significantly disagree.

USF blows USH out of the water. There is no comparison. USH has an awesome tram tour, that is true, but otherwise, there is no comparison. The same Jurassic Park and Simpsons rides, the same Shrek and T2 3D rides, and not much else. It has a far less superior and shorter version of The Mummy ride.

Unless one believes the tram tour is a "must do," there is no reason to go to USH over USF.
